Haha! Just saw a preview of Wednesday night's CSI:New York episode, and it's going to have John McEnroe making a cameo appearance...

It's hardly news that John McEnroe is going to be on TV.
He seeks out TV cameras with the same desperation as a man stranded in the desert seeks out water.

The perpetual attention and validation that this jerk requires is truly pathetic.

That first scene with him thinking that the CSI's were fans looking for an autograph was pretty bad, I was cringing. Mc did a better job of acting like someone else than his own self! Though the rest of it after that first scene was passable(barely).

I think it was dumb how they so readily believed his alibi. I think it has to do with not damaging Mc's image/reputation(damaging it more?)

What is Mac, like 5'10? He looked like a giant next to the CSI's!

I used to think that Mac was just acting when he threw his temper tantrums on the court...after last nights show I know now that he doesn't have that kind of talent. It's real.

I noticed that too. Remember, many male actors are shorter than the average male. Certainly shorter than the average tennis player. John was always listed as 5'11''. I think he claims 6 feet now, which I buy.

I do not watch much television and I've never seen CSI, but I tuned in just 'cause it was Johnny Mac....BTW thanks, this thread is how I knew about it.

I do agree with Deuce, though. The man is addicted to the camera. He's gotta be thanking God every moment for his fame, and to his credit, the writers had him make mention of that last night at the end of the episode.

Anyone catch the line about John's upper body strength? And the 140 mph serve? A little stroke of Johnny's ego there, huh? Actually a lot, throughout the hour.

I felt Mac's acting (as himself) was stiff and self-conscious....which is John, isn't it, unless he is in the booth with Ted Robinson? And his performance as his lookalike was awesome, even though it sounded dubbed in with a higher pitched voice).

Hahhaha LOL.

How about the recent line from John: "I used to get fined when I yelled at people. Now I get fined it I don't."

I absolutely think that's an act.

Can someone please summarize the premise and plot of the McEnroe episode for those of us who missed it and aren't sure what you are talking about?
