So you’re trusting the data from the state government that fired their top data specialist on May 18 for refusing to fudge numbers that showed only two of FL’s 67 counties were meeting reopening portals? Google Rebekah Jones and review her privately posted dashboard on the real numbers. Then report back to us if you’re still optimistic about our trend.
Rebekah's site says 3,423 dead in FL
FL site says 3,327
Her number is higher, but not hugely so.
FL is similar to Sweden, for good or bad. Deaths are not coming down fast enough, but they are coming down. Data on how many people are in hospitals varies.
Keep watching deaths over the next month. If they go back up, we're in deep doo-doo. But I refuse to judge this virus by cases. The only important thing re cases is the % of positives in all new cases. Deaths remains the number one stat, always assuming of course that our numbers are accurate (huge problem).
Deaths on the FL site match Worldometer, but daily deaths on the FL site are updated daily, going back up to a month. The graphs on both are about the same, but FL shows an earlier peak because many deaths show on a day on the W site actually happen 2-3 weeks earlier, with 1 or 2 occasionally up to a month earlier.
I had to postpone going to a couple homes to teach because of the deaths, which are not coming down fast enough. Another month will really tell the story. Either things drop by the end of July or there is absolute proof that reopening so soon failed (which I believe is at least partially correct.)
