I wasn't sure that was 100% appropriate to be honest. Might have been better if he'd just stuck to saying he hoped to see more of his beautiful game!
Would have been funnier if Laver went #Bel21ve or something.
Moar honest is moar fun.
I don't think it's inappropriate at all to have biases especially when there is no conflict of interest.

Well, it is clear to me Federer is his favorite, he is just wishing that from a fan perspective, nothing wrong with that.

I shall stop seeing problems where there obviously aren't any then!

How is everybody doing? I miss this thread. Hopefully this thread will be lighting it up next year. I am excited for what is to come.

But I do miss the drama of Fed. The nervousness during the matches. The adrenaline. The pain and suffering and the joy.

Cant wait to see the TIGER back in action and see us chattin it up again.

Got mixed feelings honestly.

If Fed retires, I'll just stop watching for a while as I have no real interest in watching Novak beat the crap out of useless Next Gen while fans tear lumps out of each other screaming about Weak Eras. Come back when and if some actual new talent emerges and the headbangers have been forced to carry their arguments into Former Pro

If Fed carries on - do I really want to get my hopes up?

Well, at age 39-40 it's best not to. For many years he's been utterly spent by the USO and turns up injured (2017-2019), so a reversal of that trend seems highly unlikely. It's very hard to imagine a 40 year old battling through seven BO5 matches to emerge with the trophy at a slam.

Yep. But it would be nice to see either way. At least he would go out playing the game he wants.

Nothing worse than seeing him get in rallies because the courts are slow. Even if he wins them, I can see his face is irked that he has to do that to win points.

Fed is a romantic as well. You should join us and drop the bot. :sneaky:
Are you crazy? I cheered for 3rd wheel about 13 years, and now when Novak is about to become new goat I should start cheering for new 3rd wheel?
Bye... Don't want to spoil this beautiful place... ;)

Yep. Saw the news a few days ago. "Hope" is dangerous, but it's still worth it despite the risk of another heartbreak. I will never stop hoping until the man hangs up his racquet. Will be great to have him compete again.

Unless something crazy happens, I'm pretty much done hoping for another slam. I just want to see him on court and healthy again. AO 20 being the last image we've had of him for a full year is not fun.

Haha I agree..it would wise and prudent to not hope at all and just be happy seeing him compete...But I just can't help it at times....
