Does anyone have a good resource/guide for doing this? I haven't heard of this technique before but I will be doing a squash racket with it.
Thanks!
The question is, how is the fan pattern different from a regular one?
Is there a good squash stringing site out there?
This is a great tip if you have something new (so that you don't mess up and redo).take a digi pic. repeat what you see.
Hi @uk_skippy and everyone else
i have a Signature Series V Lite 115 squash racquet i am hoping for some tips to string up - i am attempting to pre-weave everything in but i can't seem to find the right pattern. i want to do this one-piece. This is my very first squash racquet. i also have the X Lite 110 but i figured i could use a traditional one-piece with that one pretty easily. It's just this fan pattern and has got me!
Cheers

One thing to add to Paul’s advice, assuming these are Eye Rackets frames - be careful removing the old strings. Eye Rackets frames use individual grommets which might get dislodged if you pull the strings out from outside the frame. Cut the strings as normal, then snip the loops outside the frame and pull all the strings from inside the frame.Hi @uk_skippy and everyone else

Thanks for the tips. I managed to find a workable pattern to string this eye racket (14x16 pattern) but I don’t think it follows your method (unless I’m interpreting it incorrectly). The first 3 bottom mains grommets at the throat each take 2 strings and so will fill the first 6 main grommet holes, sequentially at the head (so RM 1 bottom fills RM 1 & 2 top). I managed to work an Atw pattern for this (there were not obvious 4 knot grommets for this racket and I didn’t want to enlarge given these are individual grommets and don’t have experience with their strength/durability) but the only downside was one of the last crosses was blocked by 2 strings which I managed to pull through but wasn’t great aesthetically. Overall pretty happy given it was my first squash frame. The other 14x16 was a piece of cake. Natural one piece.Hi
1st thing I'd say is dont pre-weave due to the fan pattern having the mains doubled-up in the throat. String the racquet 2 piece.
While I've not strung this racquet, I have strung a lot like this so I suspect these instructions should work
Feed in centre 2 mains,
Right Main (RM) 1 > RM 3 > RM 2> RM 4 > RM 5 > RM 9 > RM 7
On the RM2> RM4 loop at the throat make sure it sits below the RM1>RM3 loop; and RM 9 needs to be the same as RM1>RM3 loop
On the Left side, do the same but make sure the loops at the bottom are the opposite of the right
Top cross needs to be an easy weave so that the last cross is a hard weave
Hope this helps
Yes I saw that tip and used it. Thankful for it!One thing to add to Paul’s advice, assuming these are Eye Rackets frames - be careful removing the old strings. (I’ve not actually strung an Eye Rackets frame myself yet. I’m just passing on the advice that Nick Down gave me.)
