hi any experts know or can think of a way to make this beast lighter - is the head guard removable?
Basically a bazooka...somebody with no fragile parts in the arm or shoulder could use it perhaps. How does the Secret perform..?
What kind of player does it suit?
That is possible; but the frame material doesn't hold up to abrasion very well. IF you are very careful or playing on soft courts only, might not be a problem.Or snip off the guard bits of the bumper leaving the grommet bit intact?

How much weight do you realistically want to shave off the beast?hi any experts know or can think of a way to make this beast lighter - is the head guard removable?
Play on clay in the summer and indoors in the winter, no outdoor hard courts. That is possible; but the frame material doesn't hold up to abrasion very well. IF you are very careful or playing on soft courts only, might not be a problem.
That’s not a massive amount to shave, as you know the Secret 04 is built like a tank. If you have one where the rubberised finish is starting to remove itself (i.e. one that is not in pristine condition), I think you could easily sand 10g off the whole racquet above the grip without detriment to the frames integrity. @teachingprotx has done some great work in this area, much of it documented on these boards, he seems to be a genuine lovely fellow so I’m sure he would happily consult on how far you could go.10g?
BackI did on a hard low volley at 3 o’clock. Could have sworn that I cracked it at the time but couldn’t tell. Strung it many times at 65lb tension and it was fine. It wasn’t until I stripped the paint that I discovered the hairline crack.
