Nice. Let's do it some time in the coming weeks at CP. My son's working me hard to get him ready for his school tennis team so all my time is spent working with him on the courts.

Okay, with apologies to TheShaun, it appears we can get four of us together in the Seattle/Eastside area, those being diredesire, tennisp13, travlrajm, and me. If you guys want to try and arrange a time, I can try and grab a court at Central Park (it's been really, REALLY busy recently) or we can hit at Grass Lawn, Robinswood, Amy Yee, UW, or one of the school courts (Redmond Jr. High).
Documentation of the event via camcorder, while I'm sure totally embarrassing for me, would be fun! You guys can hit with my 13 ounce granny stick!

I can probably do 6:30ish at Grasslawn next week. My game has gone into full rustover since I started working long hours at my new company, so I won't be impressing anyone on video.

Central Park is a private tennis club a couple of miles away from Grass Lawn park. It's gotten really busy there all of a sudden, maybe because the club tournament is three weeks away. It seems, though, that Grass Lawn might be a good alternative as well. Either way is fine with me. With travlrajm not playing and me still trying to recover from my ankle surgery, I think it's absolutely fitting that we document our fine play on video. Diredesire, can you make it?

FYI: I work at Nordstrom Tennis Center (on UW Campus), so if you want to hit there after 6:00 I can open the doors (it is closed after 5:45). We'll have the place to ourselves!

Edit2: I am free after the ~21st. I'll be out of town from the 19th - 21st approximately. I should be available the rest of the week to play. After that, NTC resumes its regular fall hours. Can anyone make it the weekend of 22-23?

Hey, this sounds like the best plan. I'm available on the 22nd, and then I[m out of town all of the next week. If you're absolutely sure this is not going to be a problem in any way, how about we just plan for 6 p.m. on the 22nd?
TheShaun, SeaTac is kind of at the hub of the worst traffic in the area, and I've never played there so I don't know of any courts near there. I think it's probably going to be better for someone coming from the Tacoma side than the Seattle side.

as long as i'm not too far from the airport, as i need to pick someone up. we can meet north of the city too. i'd just need to leave time to get to the airport. or on the 8th i can stop at the courts on my way back to vancouver.

Not for me. Our club tournament runs from the 4th through the 14th, and being just three months out from major reconstructive surgery on my ankle, I don't think I could handle more than just the tournament itself.
Can't make it this coming Saturday? With the way the exchange rate is looking, you can come down and do some serious shopping on the cheap!

it's my friends stag weekend. i would make the drive otherwise.
his wedding is in seattle on the 6th. but my girlfriend is flying in for the weekend so i won't be able to take time away to play. that's why i can play either on the 5th before she arrives or on the 8th after she leaves.
what ntrp are you guys? i could be kidding myself, trying to play with you. i would guess mine to be a 3.0 -3.5.

Sounds like you're in for a bit of fun too!
travlrajm would be competitive at the 5.0 level. I've played a couple of very close league matches against two guys who are a combined 9-1 or 10-1 in 4.5 doubles and singles. I played against travlrajm a couple of years ago when I was just getting back into tennis and though I'm playing better now, he was and is still clearly better than I am. I haven't hit with any of the others.
No matter your level, it'll be fun just to get together for a hit. If nothing else, it'll give you an insight into what it takes to get to whatever level the others are playing at, and for that reason I'm dying to hit again with travlrajm and everyone else.

I don't hit as much as i'd like, but I'll call myself an optimistic 4.0
If you guys DO want to do any more meets just let me know. I can get courts in about a week in advance during the school year. I can probably get a block of ~2.5 hours in the evenings, etc. We'll see how this meet goes, and play it by ear from there.

I probably won't be able to play this week. To make a long story short, I haven't played in the last two weeks because of a sneeze that has caused back problems. And of course, my parents won't pay for a visit to the chiropractor, so going cold-turkey on tennis and running is my only option
.My Brother is going to be attending UW though (heading to dorm Friday), so I might be able to make it up there sometime. I will also be heading up there for another football game on the 29th (Rose bowl team dedication, Grandpa was on the team
) so I should be able to hit then.And yeah, I'm 15, so it looks as if I'm the only one under 18. ~3.5-4.0 BTW. I'll send an email or post on here when I have a definitive date or time that I could hit.

I have access to a ball cart. Bring a can if you'd like just in case they're all dead. The teams/instructors are going to get a refresh of balls this fall, so we're in the "dead" zone right now as far as balls go.

I just donated a hopper full of once-used balls to my son's junior high team to practice, but I think that if everyone brings a can of balls, we'll be in great shape.
Can we park in the Montlake parking lot? Also, are there facilities to grab a quick shower afterwards?

You can park right in front of the tennis center for free since it's after 12:00 on Saturday.

Well, I've been rooting through the garage for cool racquets to bring. I've got an Ergonom, a T2000, a Jack Kramer woodie with SPPP, POG from the middle 1980's, a Wilson Ultra II Mid, an AMF Graphite Edge, a Prince Precision Graphite with the fiber bridge, and a Chang Longbody strung with a P2/Megaforce hybrid.
Anybody have any cool racquets? Maybe if everyone brings a woodie, we can have a wood racquet tournament. . .

I bought it about a year ago just to see what it was like. It's no more than 6/10 if even that, but yeah I'd be okay with parting with it. I'll make sure I bring it. Will your friend be there?

I might not be able to hit too much, we may have a butt load of team frames dropped off for stringing that weekend. My roommate and I (both stringers for the teams) will be present and probably on and off the court.
I think i'll try and split my time evenly between videographing, photographing, and hitting in the event

I hope the racquet isn't too customized for you. I've got about 1 1/2 ounces of added weight due to a shrink wrap sleeve on the grip and lead around the hoop. We'll fiddle around with it if it isn't to your liking.
My son might come along if he's feeling okay. If so, there'll be a couple of PDR+ to try as well.
