For those of us in the States, we have a pretty important election coming up next year. So my question is, who ya gonna vote for? Poll options are limited at 10, so feel free to write in your candidate in your post.

As of now, I'm going to go with Dennis Kucinich. I'm not a big fan of big privatized Health care; people who don't have money and need help don't end up getting the help they need.

Obama is a great speaker and charming, but I don't know if he has enough experience to give this country what it needs.

Ron Paul is just ape crazy, then again, I'm not a fan of libertarians in general. (Ron Paul wants to convert back to gold currency, whaaattttt)

Seeing as I can't vote in your presidential election...who am I kidding? I still will offer my opinion. I would need to learn and hear more from the respective candidates but as it stands if I could vote and it had to be today, my vote would be for Obama.

i have not done enough of my homework, but from what i have seen there are more than a few people i could vote for at the moment. i could vote for most the republicans from the limited knowledge i have, but i need check out others like giuliani, obama, edwards, etc.

You live in California, you'll need to figure out and pick a party 30 days before the primary (which is in February next year) because we don't have open primaries here.

David Broder wrote a column suggesting a McCain-Huckabee ticket for the Republicans. I could probably vote for them in a general election and still sleep well, with my hippie/pagan/knee-jerk moderate sensibilities.

For only the 2nd time I can remember I was a subject in a political poll last night. It was a one-question survey.

"Knowing what you know now about the candidates who would you vote for? Press the number which corresponds to your candidate of choice."

1 - Rudi
2 - Mitt
3 - Mike
4 - John
5 - Fred
6 - None of the above.

I pressed "6" and the automated voice said, "Thank you. Your name and number will be removed from our list for future polls."

Oh yeah.... Before he entered the race I thought I'd vote for Thompson.

Now? All I know is who I will *not* vote for: Rudi or McCain. Huckabee reminds me a *lot* of GWB (meaning I think he is pretending to be more Conservative than he really is.)

Who's the "Harry Truman" in this race? He'd get my vote.

I find Dennis to be annoying. But I would have to agree with you Obama dose not have enough experience. I don't think he can get us out of Iraq faster than anyone else.

Good feedback folks. My vote is going to Dennis Kucinich or Barack Obama, this country needs a change real bad. Obama is one of the few guys in the running that I don't get a slimy feeling from whenever I seem him on TV. Anyone watch Romney's speech last night, it was a good speech and all but I felt really alienated as an atheist in his saying that "freedom requires religion". I'm all for a President having faith, but come on, then again he does need those evangelical votes from those who think that he isn't a true Christian. Huckabee seems like a nice guy, but I really don't want a faith based governement. I hope a lot of young people will come out and vote this time around, us young people aren't even old enough to remember what it was like when the government worked.

Can't stand Hilary, and we don't need another name brand in the White House. There's something endearing about Obama, and to have him as President would greatly improve this country's image.

Hilary will probably win, though, unless Oprah can pull off another Christmas miracle.

Lol, as much as I hate Oprah, I hope her endorsement will garner some more votes. If Hillary gets elected then that means there will have been a Clinton or a Bush in the White House since I was two years old. The being said, I really don't think Hillary will win, I think she is becoming less and less electable as the days go by.

I only agree if the kids inform themselves. I'm tired of voters learning *after the fact* their candidate holds more positions opposite what they thought when they voted. (And, yes, this happens more with the younger voters.)

Here's one candidate quiz to see who fits your own positions the most. (As with most of these quizes, it's inadequate. But it's something....)

I took your quiz KK and Edwards scored on top with Obama only 4 points behind him - I would still go with Obama. :)

@Kaptain_Karl, by the Supremes, who do you mean? And yes I do think that Huckabee would at least make an attempt to incorporate religion into public space where it doesn't belong. However, I completely agree with you about young people being informed before they vote rather than after the fact.

On my quiz Edwards and Kucinich came out on top with 44 points each, while Obama and Clinton were 4 points back. Great minds!

Kucinich is a bit too nutty for my tastes, even though me and Denny are tight on the major issues...

Looks like Edwards and I are simpatico. But he's a corn-fed, Southern white man, and doesn't bring anything to the table that Obama doesn't, so I'm going to have to stick with Obama for the great new image he'd bring to this country. It would send such a strong message to the world. Unfortunately, Christian conservative white people run this country and shut everyone else out to the point where we are globally hated, so I don't see it happening.

I agree completely. This country definitely needs a new image, amongst other things.
