how to make an mfil200 feel flexier?

hi all, i have the 97" 16x19 mfil 200, strung at 55 lbs with forten thinblend.

i recently hit with a 200g, and boy did it feel nice. i also own a prostaff tour 90. i love the flexible, soft feel of those classic rackets.

however, i would prefer to not have to buy another racket. i understand my string is stiff, but i like the control, durability, and spin of it.

so what can i do to make my frames feel softer/flexier? are there any other cheap, durable strings that maintain their tension well and would give me the feel i want?

thinblend is kevlar. if you want similar durability you can try a 17 or 18 gauge poly. something like SPPP. you don't want to go to 16g in your racquet since it's 18x20.

Adding weight to the loop will help getting more flex out of the frame.

I think Chaho had an illuminating thread on this subject, including recommendations like stripping the paint off your racquet, and lots of others.

Thinblend is a Kevlar composite (mains) and Forten Sweet (crosses), I believe. At 55 lbs, it should feel pretty 'sweet'.

If you want a softer feel, do not use kevlar or poly.

This is a wicked thread. .

glad you liked it:), there is none like it on the boards,

why do we do this?

It is a hobby,

We are not going to be the next Federers by practicing our butts off, the most we can do is play at local open tournaments at best and have fun.

We enjoy the feeling how different frames and string setups react when we manipulate and tinker with our gear.

It is not a crime!!!!!!!!!
