The Short Persons Club...

You must be under 5'10 to join as a guy and under 5'7 as a women...
Here is where we talk about what kind of racquets that short people mostly use...

I'm 14 and I measure at 5'1...

Mostly, I prefer extended length, at least 27.5 inches, 27.25 isn't long enough for me...

Also, since strategy is a bit different when your shorter, what are your tactics against different kinds of players?

I am 5'7", but I am 23 years old.

27" racket, MicroGel Extreme Pro.

I think at 5'1", you have a little more growing to go. *Keep the finger crossed*

There should be a height limit in this club. Let's make it less subjective. =) What's with these dudes that are 5'8"? That's normal!

5'5" here, and using a PD Junior. That's right the Junior (the one made for kids). "4" even" grip size; hence the junior racquet since adult racquets don't come in that size and I don't want to pay to get the grips custom molded. I play great with it even though it's 26.5 inches long, and I slapped a bunch of lead on it.

I thought normal for the average adult male was 5'11...

I guess "normal" is subjetive too. If you're talking about the average male height it varies from region to region. Not sure what it would be for earth.

I forgot to add that I'm 23.

And as for tactics against taller guys, I'm quick so I can cover the court well; and I rely on shot placement more than sheer power. I use the forehand slice a lot to make taller guys dig down too.

Isn't average height 5'9" ish?

I couldn't find an average height for all of Earth. In China the average male height is 5'4.9". In the U.S. it's 5'10" I think. I bet the earthly average is somewhere around 5'9" though. That's why I think there should be a limit. If your 1 inch under the average world height are you really short?

The requirement is that you have to be at least 5'11 or under for this club...

Maybe an inch or two shorter than I am now. I distinctly remember everyone around me shooting up freshman year of high school, and me staying the same.

If anyone is over the national average height for the U.S. you are officially not short. Take your viking friends and start your own club. =P

yeah im an average height but i fit the requirements according to the original poster.

Yeah but the club council took a vote and determined he was drinking when he said that. So we ammended it. Also, I'm the only short guy posting right now so I pretty much run the show.

I'll enjoy my plaque, thank you. Will you ship it to me? Will there be ceremonies?

You'll have to come to the club house to see it. And you'll have to stand outside since you can't come in. And you'll have to duck down to see in cause the windows are pretty low.

Well that's OK. I'll enjoy my plaque none-the-less. But, I only really grew in the last year. I happy with it.

Enjoy your club.

Wow. 6'1'' and under? Hmmm. People see me as tall-ish. I am 6 feet even and in America. Probably a little taller with shoes on.

Did not think I'd qualify for entrance to this club, but I'm supportive, and I'm here if you're cool with it. And in terms of PRO TENNIS, I think you're right, 6'0'' is on the small end.

I've always found myself rooting for the likes of Mac, Rios, Roger Federer (a touch over 6'1'', so probably not a part of this club), Ferru, Santoro, Kohlschreiber, the Rochus brothers and Donald Young over taller opponents.

On the other hand, I identify with playing styles like Tsonga, Rafter, Becker and Guga.

I use a 27 inch frame with a size 6 grip.

Well, here's to the great game of tennis -- good for all sizes.

I am 5'6". Trying to get girls sucked back in college.

That aside, my current thought on weapon is the short angles.

I think the standards should be lowered. Honestly, 6'1" is too high. We should make it 5'9"

Yes, let's ignore the guy that made this thread...

It is actually 6 flat and under, the rule says that you must be under 6'1"...
