I am still looking for my "holy grail" if you will.

So far I have tried the following racquets.

  • Babolat Pure Storm
  • Babolat Aeropro Drive Standard
  • Babolat Aeropro Drive Plus
  • Babolat Pure Drive
  • Babolat Pure Drive Plus Cortex
  • Babolat Aero Blast
  • Dunlop M-Fil 200 Plus
  • Dunlop Aerogel 300
  • Head Liquidmetal Radical
  • Head Liquidmetal Instinct XL
  • Prince O3 Red
  • Prince Hybrid Shark
  • Prince O3 Tour MP
  • ProKennex Redondo Mid
  • Tecnifibre T-Fight 335
  • Wilson K95X
  • Wilson KSix-Two
  • Wilson NSix-Two
  • Wilson NBlade
  • Yonex RDS 001
  • Yonex RDX500

All had their positives and negatives.... but none were "heavenly."

I am thinking about trying out a Microgel Prestige, because I have heard many good things about the Prestige line but never tried one.

I am a flat hitter with no spin at all. Good decision?

Try the Prince Platinum and Prince Gold. If you're not happy with so large an assortment of "player" sticks, you probably need something a bit more toward the "granny" end.

Are you serious???

I am a pro though...... like my NTRP is 7.5.

I just need a flawless racquet, I know it can't be my lack of skill that causes me to mess up, it has to be the racquet.

Or maybe the strings...hmmmm

Go with the Babolat Aeropro Drive Cortex standard or plus. The spin you can generate on this racquet is almost Nadal-like.

Oops, I must have read the post to quick I thought those were the racquets you wanted to try not the ones you already used. I somehow got the impression that you hit with a lot of topspin because of your avatar. Well the K90 and Kblade Tour are pretty good racquets for flat hitters.

Hola Tokyo,

You said it. It is the strings... and something else. I have developed a soft hand and arm playing semi-pro table tennis for many years and I can tell a gram difference in my equipment. Now, in tennis I can even tell half a psi difference in my strings. But, at 7.5 rating... you should be giving us lessons. What you need is something else... "a flawless girlfriend".

So You have tried all those racquets on your list, which includes both 16 and 18 mains..... and nothing is working out for you. Maybe it is not the racqujet my friend.

lol i saw him play in a video before. its definitely not the racket. i'd reccomend you get a racket you're comfortable and get coaching.

And I'm pretty sure 7.0 is the highest ntrp rating.
You might want to just get a light racket to practice your strokes and then find a racket that matches your style.

Are you fit?

Use full strokes?

eastern or semi-western grip I assume.

If all yes - must try Redondo -EDIT whoops nevermind I see yuo already hit with it.

My next suggestion wold be MG Prestige frames

Happy April 1st

Tokyo,

you are 7.5 and you don't use topspin?

From your video you are clearly in the Federer bracket, and I saw oodles of topspin, the action on your balls was SICK.

I think that heavenly feel comes only with classic racquets (read: discontinued) like the PS 6.0 95" (although I haven't tried others). They say Luxilon is godly for an hour, try it. Read CAM178's post, too.

Anyway, a 7.5 should not take advice from us mere 1.0 - 5.0's.

And by the way, its April Fools Day in Tokyo. So April Fools wishes to you, dear friend.
