Whoever beats Fed more they will hate the most. I think right now it is Nadal.

Yes, I think that Novak challenges Federer on the faster surfaces where Nadal doesn't as much.

I vote Nadal as Federer's toughest opponent. Neither Nadal nor Djokovic are enemies.

I still consider Nadal as Federer's main rival but Djokovic is up there with those two and is becoming a great player,it's no longer a two-horse race with Novak in the mix.As for "public enemy #1",I don't know exactly what you mean,I never hated neither Nadal nor Djokovic,I just root for Federer who is my favourite player for a long time now.I do respect Nadal a lot more as a person although Djokovic may mature in the future and become a good sportsman and ambassador for tennis.

Same reason Borg could not. They both use extreme topspin. Both Borg and Nadal did well at the FO and Wimbledon. They both did not have the game for hardcourts.

Well Borg had 4 US Open finals by the time he was 25, so obviously he could play on hard courts.
And certainly the hard courts favored Borg's game more than the old grass. I think with Borg it was mental. He didn't like the lights or the noise of the US Open. I wonder if it's fatigue with Nadal after the clay and grass season.

Borg also quit at 25. He could play on hards and so can nadal. Rafa has beaten Federer almost as many times as the other way around. But the topsin game is just not meant for hards. Although I think Vilas won the US Open.....was that on clay though???

Initially I hated Nadal for beating Federer. But despite that I have grown to love his work ethic and never say die attitude. I love how Nadal grinds away at Fed on the clay court (or any court, even grass) and does not give up. Nowadays when Nadal beats Federer it doesn't bother me the slightest bit. I just enjoy the tennis because I like a good fight.
For Novak on the other hand, I can't say much about his "fight". I have no respect for a quitter. His damned family is bloody annoying too. Nadal's uncle Tony has had his moments but it's nowhere as bad as the Djokovic camp.

Actually only 3 of the finals he played in were on hard court, his first one was on a clay court and he lost in 4 sets.

Federer is finding his form for the 2008 season and for you or anyone else to say either player is an enemies because they are successful is foolish on your part. It goes to show your mature way of thinking, at the end the better man will come out on top. It might me Roger, Rafa or Novak, nobody on this board knows for sure. That's why we all have to wait and see how it unfolds.

Very interesting. Roger has a hard time with Nadal on clay, while Djokovic is willing to take over the hardcourts.
I think everyone of the three is looking out for the other two at the top, they are all very good all-courters (the stupid comments about Nadal being weak on hardcourt are... well, stupid). But I think Federer will be on top at the end of the year.
Oh, Nadal and Djokovic are both a threat for the number one spot, the end of the year should show us who is better.

I agree. I can't speak for all Fed fans but when Federer loses, after the initial shock, the emotion I feel is that of frustration (and maybe disappointment at Fed, knowing he could have done better) and not 'hatred' towards his opponent.

Nadal has never been on the hate list. He is a genuinley good person, great athelete, and deserves everything he gets. He would be the perfect spokesman for a "Good Sportsmanship" organization.
Novak on the other hand...While his play is top notch he has several glaring faults in personality, heart, and sportsmanship that no one wants to see at the top of the game.
