I think that pretty much sums it up.

and this:
Net Approaches - Fed:42 of 75 = 56% - Rafa:22 of 31 = 71%

If federer can get more consistent and lose 10-15 of those unforced errors he can beat him in 4 or less sets.

Only problem: Nadal is hitting the heck out the ball, so it comes as no suprise that federer is making a mess of his points out there.

and plus the fact that Federer out-Aced nadal 25 to 6. that shows how dominating he was from point to point.

Everybody is talking about federers serve improvement? Well Nadals is improving even faster

feds game is more high risk than nadal. he will always have more winners as well as unforced errors. it comes with the territory.

Yup.

If Federer would be to cut down on his unforced errors, he'd get completely troused by Nadal, there wouldn't be as many winners from Roger and we all know you can't win points off Rafa with an average shot. He's so consistent with his groundstrokes that you have to be semi-offensive in every shot you play.

Is that including the service aces?

Yes

When you click on 'player statistics' you will see their winners per match.

something isn't adding up

b/c points won total:

Federer-204
Rafa-209

Well that total doesn't include 'forced errors.' That stat is rarely listed on any stat sheet.

Subtracting winners & unforced errors from the total of points won, Fed made 97 forced errors, Nadal 88.

like the above said, federer wouldn't have as many winners then if he didn't have that many unenforced errors.

Yep, the match was Federer's to win or lose...he made the most winners..and the most mistakes (at the crucial times too).

Nadal methodically played the same game throughout...and it was (just) enough.

Fed had 89 winners & Nadal had 60 winners.
