What are the top 5 most sought after popular players racquets at the moment? how much do you think they are worth now 2nd hand?

..and any others...

And...
Which racquets at the moment do you think will become sought after racquets in the future? Im thinking if the ag100 is discontinued it might be... no?

The Babolat APDC is a sought after players frame. These can be found at a decent price if you look around.

I think Pro Kennex rackets from the 80´s are sought after by more and more people. Particularly from the Ace series the original Black Ace, Silver Ace, Golden Ace and Copper Ace.

Exactly. The FourAces (four models listed) are the ones.

IMO, PS85 is very much sought after due to it being "hyped up" as being the Sampras frame. (And, sorry to those who swear by it, I don't like playing with it at all.) The four classic PK Aces models are the ones that deliver performance without the need of hype.

Why is PK copper ace is so sought after? I owned both the copper ace (older version not the new green one with white stripe one) and copper ace II. They are both very unforgiving frame comparing to the modern frame. Topspin is very hard (especially lop topspin). There is no feel to it. Sweetspot is tiny. It is nowhere close to core #6, redondo or xG series.

I mean due to it being a part of the early no-nonsense sticks, and to complete the classic Ace series collection.

And, may I add to another one to help lengthen the sought after sticks ...

The Head Vilas ... the ultimate must-have (which I still don't have one ... :cry: ).

Mint Yamaha Secret 04's seem to attract hight values on the bay, up to $300 or so ... Probably less than certain mint 6.0 85's though.

Indeed you can. I was able to buy two mint, never used or strung 04s, on the bay over the last year. Actually, one of them I was not able to secure first as the price blew through my stops, and went for $290 I think. Then a few weeks later it reappeared, offered by the winner of the previous auction. I bid again, and was successful quite a bit below the $290. But since the seller would not ship internationally, I had to have it delivered to a relay in the US, so that second shipping annulled a bit of the discount again unfortunately. [If someone can explain to me why some sellers refuse to ship internationally, which could only lead to more bidding on an object, I would be glad to learn.]

I have not seen any mint ones since, though. Keep looking!

Well, i´m not sure i would want to spend $290,- on an 04. i collect a wide range of rackets. so we probably won´t bid against each other on the bay:) i´ve asked the question why lots of U.S. sellers don´t ship overseas a couple of times now. retrowagon gave me a very comprehensive answer in the pk ace thread. doesn´t help though with the problem.
could you explain, what you meant by delivering to a relay in the U.S. how does that work?

Sure, there are private services on the big bay, run by individuals as a small business I presume, that for a fee offer either of the following two services.

Either you do all the bidding yourself, but provide to the big bay seller the relay's own US address. The relay then, for a fee as I said, takes collection of your item and ships it further on to you.

Sometimes the seller not only does not want to ship internationally, s/he would not even accept bidding from an international bidder. In that case the relay does the bidding under his or her own big bay name (using your instructions), and then sends it off to you after local delivery. You do not get a feedback by the item seller in that case, obviously.

I used one service a few times, and found it easy, painless and the relay was available on email nearly real time. Hope this helps.

that´s a tremendous help, thanks. why didn´t i know this before :)

since you are the resident Yamaha expert. the point came up in another thread("20 year old frames rock!"), whether or not Gabriela Sabatini played Yamaha. I say she did, seem to remember a white racket with green. Do you have any recollection?

I have or had most the rackets mentioned in this post. Some of them i already sold. I still have 3 Slazenger Pro Braded, passed in a 04, had a k90, have 2 mg prestiges, just sold my i radical, and most of the pk ace (not golden or diamond).

She did indeed (and may well do up to this date). If I remember correctly, she used to play with the Secret EX (green, red, white), and then moved over to the Secret EX with black and white stripes. As far as I can tell, the EX frames seem to be pretty identical, except for paint jobs, and occasionally for weights. I think that somewhere on this message board someone picked up Sabatini's old stick and posted a picture, including her signature on the throat.

My 5 most sought out rackets are PK Micro, and other unique rackets like the ball bearing one, Snauwaert ERGONOM, Mad Raq. I like collecting those. but thats just me. I know alot of people that want the PS 6.0 85 SV. I want one too but just way too much for a old racket

wow, the "Pro" Kennex nuts are at it again, even dissin the prostaff st.vincent which has won more majors than the total number of pros who have ever played "Pro" kennex, that's out of line and personal....either:
1. they really love pro kennex and deserve sympathy and counseling
2.they mistakenly invested in 40 new copper aces on e&@# before finding out nobody would even take them for free and are now trying to generate interest in cheap club frames that despite being called "pro", are and were a rarity in the pros and majors

3.they are salty that bitd "pro" kennex was mostly an inexpensive frame for club players and older non competetive doubles types unlike dunlop, kneissl, adidas, puma, donnay, snauwaert, wimbeldon, rossignol, fischer and fox bosworth, yamaha wilson etc. which were used by club playersd but actually designed for and used by pros.

IMHO pro kennex are about as sought after as bags of day old bread,

Thanks, i found some pictures of her on the web too.
The only Yamaha that i have in my collection is the YFG30, but i will certainly look out for others.
Let me know if you have trouble finding Küblers book, or if you need some info from the book

True, Pro Staff StVs have won may majors, but few here will need a stick designed to take a top ten Pro to #1. Many seek a stick designed to take a 4.0 to 4.5

Don't get me wrong, I have never used an Ace and am not saying they are a great stick, but by the same token using the success of the GOAT with a racquet as a practical endorsement on this Board is suspect as well.
