well im trying an hybrid for the first time: kirshbaum super smash17 mains, psgd17 crosses. i dont know what tension should i use. its also the first time im gonna use a poly.

i normally string my racquet with psgd16/17 at 62.

Go lower for a poly the first time and adjust upwards if you have to. Personally, I string Luxilon Ace at 45 in the crosses, but you may prefer a little higher.

Definitely low 50s for starters though.

I recently tried Luxilon Big Banger 16/PSGD 16 at 54/60 pounds. It was a little too loose for my liking since I'm used to PSGD only at 60 pounds. The last setup I tried was Pro Supex Big Ace 16/PSGD 16 at 60 pounds. I was going to up the PSGD to 64, but I forgot to change the tension on my stringer. Anyways, I liked the higher tension much better. My 2 cents...

Big fast swing, more tension, softer frame.
Slow short swing, less tension, stiffer bigger frame.

Kirshbaum suggests dropping the tension by 10% from your normal Nat or Synth gut tension. So you could try 56/59 and work up or down from there remembering that poly string will feel stiffer in a 18/20 stringbed pattern of the Prestige. Good luck and have fun.

i would raise your tension.
i remember i had alot of power at like aroundt he 60's tension but then
i soon realized since i want to play a bigger game id need more pop, i also have a fast swing and very very high tension.

72 on my tfight 335.
69 on my pure storm tour.

id only recomend this if you can provide your own power.

i decided to put 58lbs mains/60lbs crosses. i played today and i cant believe how good it feels. now i can do what i love to do, swing very fast and still keeping the ball in court . and the spin i generate is incredible, even when i dont swing that fast my shots still have a good amount of spin on them. great feel too. i hope the tension doesnt drop too much.

now i understand why so many people love poly strings.

I just started using poly this year and I second everything you say about it.
