Awesome, thanks! Look like exactly the same specs as the current PDs. The paintjob look a bit better in your images lol. I watched Roddick with the racquet and didn't like the paintjob at all.

some more info for y'all. the new pure drives will be even stiffer than the previous models. 72 for the regular and 74 for the roddick

Specs aren't "iffy" at all; they're the same as the Pure Drive before that, and the model before that one as well... why mess with a winning formula?

On the other hand, I can't wait to get my hands on the new PDR+. It's been three years since I bought a new Babolat.

the roddick version comes with marks to help u put lead on the 3 and 9 o'clock areas?! that's handy!

i agree the pj is better than the last ones... but i'm not a fan of that detail in red on the regular version...

I wonder if Roddick is using an actual model or if it's just a really good paintjob with the Pure Drive Team underneath.

I'm assuming the weight and balance are unstrung? if so, then the racket is 5 HL unstrung, making it like.... even balance.

I reckon they "reverse" PJed the lead tape :)! I wonder if they actually think the public will go for it.

i don't really think they are trying to fool people or be deceiving... a lot of babolat pjs in the past had subtle marks to help u place lead tape... mostly around the 12 o'clock area... i've been playing with pure drives for awhile and this last pj (for the cortex version) was the first one to come without the marks for the lead tape...

minor customizing is something that can go a long way into improve ur game in my opinion, besides being pretty fun! it shouldn't be that hard to do. i quite like the idea to have the main brands putting marks to help more people get into customizing their frames...

I didn't realise it was a common feature. Sounds good if that's what it's actually for. I reckon I just get too cynical sometimes about these things.

What is this ? where is the Length ? roddick always uses extra long 27 1/2 inche frame. so how long is the retail version on both ???

Well I wouldnt expect PDR to be a great volley racket, but despite what everyone thinks of the new gimmicks, the pros still use them, and they still get paid millions even though we have the opinion that the frame sucks.

Personally I think it looks great, and with balance point being at 315mm, I cant wait until May to demo it.

It's actually not a bad volleying racquet at all; with strings and overgrip, my current PDR+ stands at about 325 mm, or 8 pts HL. Pretty quick around the court, and these two models have the exact same specs.

It'll do all of us a lot of good for these racquets to come out soon.

I nearly have a panic attack every day when I check to see if there is any new news about these frames. lol

I don't think its the original PD because of the cortex technology. Seriously, i do prefer the new ones (i have the roddick + edition) the old ones tore up my shoulder after a few months of serving. I like roddicks paintjob, much more flashy than the current version. If anybody is thinking of getting this racquet, be prepared to add a little lead tape to the top, just to give it a little more heft and it really helps add that extra zip to groundies and brings the serves down into the box. I think i added about 12 grams in total at about 4 and 7 o'clock.

over 10,000 posts and you need to ask? there will be a 27.5 and roddick uses a 28 NOT a 27.5

I am curious. this is much more lighter than previous pure drives. only 300 grams. I wonder why Babolat decided to go light weight route. Taking lessons from YONEX ??

Nice racket. But it seems like it's exactly the same to the Pure Drive that is available right now. Woofer, cortex, graphite. Whats going to be different?
