ANIMAL BALLOON!

Yes, the long balloons that are used make twisted animals are just perfect as vibration dampeners. Get a multicolored pack from your nearest dollar store, twist around your strings, double knot, snip the ends, and voila! - as good or better dampening than a rubber band, and far better looking.

Balloon dampener...you heard it hear first. :cool:

i actually heard that the condom dampeners work even better. xl magnums for oversized sticks. smalls for the k90s. best protection from vibration guaranteed.

Here is an example. If you can pull it off with other kinds of rubber dampeners, more power to you. Those ladies on the courts will never be able to take their eyes off your "equipment". ;-)

wth condom is made of latex not rubber hahaha.

straws , rubber bands , balloons...

you should also try the rubber bearing used in the pistons of a car engine. Those will withstand any amount of vibration

latex is rubber last time i checked... atleast a type of rubber.

I've seen some that even have prints on them. Perfect for the ladies/kids. Thanks for the idea tennis1971.
Keep some extras in your bag and during breaks you can make some animals for the kiddos. (btw, you guys ever try to blow these up? it's a beating for the lungs!)

Do these animal balloons deteriorate like rubber bands? My only complaint with rubberband dampeners is they get brittle and break apart over time.

I have tried a number of the ballon, rubber band things but find that the Gamma worm things work better than anything. They just simply make the string bed feel completely dead.

is that a starting knot at the bottom of your frame? I am assuming it is a Dunlop Mfil 300...?

Hey dire, would you recommend the ML90 to others as a good machine? I'm looking into it because of LF trouble.

I like mine, it's not perfect, but it gets the job done. Shoot me an e-mail, you know where to find me :)

I have something more similar to the ML100, with the automatic jaw, the tensioner has been extremely excellent in my usage, gentle on the string, strong grip, never had to clean it. The clamps are a little draw-backy in my experience, but the design is excellent. They don't slide altogether that well, but a little bit of silicone spray helped a lot. The mounting system is really solid, but a little too finicky to work with (too many knobs).

All in all, an excellent machine for home/personal use, but i'll probably be upgrading in the near future.

I see. I just finished my first string job on my new ML90. I agree, the clamps can be a little finicky, but the machine overall is solid. I really like the mounting system. A bunch of knobs, but not a lot of force needed to secure the racquet.
