He did it LOTS of times as a junior..too bad not winning all the times when you suppose to be able to do so...

OMG nothing wrong about it..only you do not have to conceal your own personality behind a "classy" appearance..i now appreciate it more than before..now he is a MAN..with all his strenghts (a lot of..)...and weaknesses

Fed smashes his racquet once and all of a sudden he needs anger management?

(Well not really first first time but the first time in awhile)

Why are people taking this matter soo seriously?

It was one of the most funniest things i have seen in today's tennis.

I was hoping this was going to happen the whole time i was watching the second set. It was like a build up to this single moment. Intense

Yes of course..but they do not pretend to be "Mr. Perfect" or "Mr. Sportmanship"...and all in all, as i said elsewhere, i appreciate him more than ever 'cause he showed us that's just a man with strenghts and weaknesses...Mr. perfect is dead, long live Fed the uman being...

Because Federer declared himself the heir of the Crawford/Rosewall/Laver line of stoic, classy Aussies. They never cried or smashed racquets in their long careers. They didn't draft him, he volunteered to play the part. He's a hypocrite, and has to expect to be called on it.

Yeah, but that time he only slammed it flat which did not break the racquet. It was only to let out some frustration and not intended to break the racquet.

This time he smashed it on the edge of the racquet with the sole intention of breaking it. There's a difference.

Must be something about Miami that brings out the desire for Federer to throw his racquets.

you guys have to understand the tremendous pressure weighing him down though. i feel bad for the guy he got booed. that was like years of anger in one smash. haha he still looked like calm smooth rog when he did it

True. Just look at his post-interview after losing to Djokovic.

Can you imagine Laver crying after losing to Rosewall?

I used to see him pull tantrums when playing Davis Cup as a young guy in Zurich. He was losing most of the time then...
