according to his ranking breakdown.., he actually stands a good chance to gain more points by years end.

how do you guys see this, and what tourneys will he improve and decline in points on?

I think Roddick could do a little better on clay then in the past due to the amount of weight he's lost and his new coach but overall I expect him to easily qualify for the year end Masters. I think that's a reasonable assumption due to how well he's been playing this year and as of right now I would rank Roddick as the 4th or 5th best player in the world.

i estimate**** he will gain an additional 1350 points over all from the points he had last year. wanted to make sure i wasnt fooling myself cause im a fan.

It's too early to make any especially confident predictions on this, but right now it looks likely that Roddick will finish this season with more points and a higher place in the rankings than he did last year's.

If he wins some rounds in the French Open and Wimbledon....he will go up.

correct me if i am wrong but i believe Madrid will make up for Hamburg, and Shanghai for Madrid

From right now, heres what i predict:
- Madrid and Rome should be able to cover the 450 points he has to defend
- With a decent draw i expect Roddick to make between the 3rd round - Quarters at RG. All those points will add right on
- Should defend points in Queens
- Good for Quarters, maybe even Semis at Wimby
- im assuming he will play Indianapolis and LA in summer. Has 250 points to defend there, should easily get that
- USO should defend points there

nothing higher than number 5.

I think 5 is probably where he deserves to be right now. He can beat Djokovic, federer is playing like crap, and if he plays like he did against federer 2nd and 3rd set (minus the approaches) he could definitely challenge Nadal and Murray if hes on

he can beat anyone IF hes on when playing on HCs but he has to do well at Wimbledon and at LEAST play some clay events this year, even though he hates them. i see him at #5 with a possibility of hitting 4 depending on what the top 4 do.

i just hope hes in Rafas half of the draw on some HC events so he can not go in thinking its a lost cause, with him and Fed its 99% mental 1% physical

The thing is that he cant start a match spinning his fh. Its got to be agressive from the start. In his match against Nadal he got behind early becuase he was spinning the forhand. When he finally started to go for his shots, he broke Nadal, and almost forced a third set, in which he would have been going in with the momentum

Unless Federer doesn't defend his Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and US Open points.....then Roddick may have a chance to get to #4.

That's true. Federer has quite a few points to hold on to this year and he's slipping. I imagine I'm going to recieve some crap about this, but I think Roddick and Federer are going to end up next to each other in the rankings by the end of the year. i.e. Fed-#4, Roddick-#5 or something similar.

the problem with roddick is his mindset. if he goes up against anyone but fed on HCs he can win. if he meets fed hes lost in his mind ebfore stepping on court.
