Asics Gel Resolution 2 -suitable for clay?

These shoes are touted as great hard court shoes and yet in the "shoe finder" section, they're included in the clay court list. Are the Asics Gel Resolution 2 good for clay? Any feedback would be appreciated-thx.

Yes. I have now owned two pairs of Asics Gel Resolutions (the first models). There is very little difference between the first ones and the GR 2's. These are some of the best shoes ever for support. I used to get ankle and knee discomfort using Nike's, Yonex, and Diadora's. Once I switched to the Asics GR's, the discomfort went away it seemed. I use mine both on hard and clay courts and they give excellent traction and support on both courts. They are also still comfortable and supportive enough for when you need to slide on clay as well.

^^Agree with the above, although I have not played on clay with my Res 2s yet. I have a clay-designated pair of Res 1s, and they are just as comfortable and stable on clay as they are on hard courts.

The Res 2 blues look too good to wear on clay - so far.

It seemed like all the French players were wearing them at the French Open this year. It is a great shoe overall even though the durability is not up to par with shoes that are warrantied.

i have worn both GR 1 & 2's. i believe they are best suited for clay given their durability. i prefer them over Adidas even though i play mostly hardcourt, but only getting about 2-3 months wear due to my toe drag.
