My current shoe lineup is the Yonex SHT-304 Clay, Gel Resolution 3 and Gel Game 3. I like the lightness and features of the Yonex, but the are a little lacking in support. I fixed that with a Sole insole. The Resolutions are nice, but I keep getting nagging little pains in my heel until I put a Sole insole in them, then they were perfect. I got the Game 3s for a ridiculously low price, and they are, IMO, better than the Resolutions. The Game 3s are very comfortable, perform well and worked great right out of the box.

I play on clay nearly 100% of the time, which is the great equalizer when it comes to shoes. If I had to buy another pair of shoes right now, I would look for another bargain in the Game 3s.

I was gonna get the Game 3 but since Resolution 3 price on TW just went down to $80 I thought it will be a better choice?

I've only owned the Res 3. I started to see wear down to the foam after 25 uses (66 hours) but continued to use them 6 months for a total of 38 times (100 hours) and turned them in for free replacement shoes. Who knows if the sole is the same on both shoes or what the differences are.

The two things that strike me in the pictures is the Res has a more flexible pattern on the sole and has much better ventilation. But it's your decision which amount to spend on shoes. Hopefully you'll get some Game 3 users in here to comment.

I can spend about anything but yeah I've been leaning towards Asics recently do you guys know anything else in a different brand that's similar to them?

I'm a pretty firm believer that you "get what you pay for." The exceptions are out there, but if a guy is selling a widget for $40 and another is $100, which should be crafted better? What do you get for spending the incremental $60? Certainly if marketing costs are higher on an item those costs will be passed on to the product.

Gel res 3 is a higher quality than the games, that being said, both are nice options, there is no comparison when trying on both, I would say similar to the courtballistec line where Nike releases 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, just assume the games are like a 3.2 and the res 3's are like the 3.3's

what I am saying here is NOT that asics compare to Nikes, simply, the games are a downgraded version of the 3's

Just picked up two more pair of the GR3 in the yellow for next year. Sure, the 6-month warrantee on the soles won't do me any good, since I'm putting them on a shelf and waiting on warmer weather to break them out, but I never have had an outsole warrantee issue even with shoes that don't have them, so I don't see that as being a big drawback when I can get the shoes for 30% off... They are great shoes, and at this price... Plus, if you wear out the sole in the 6-month period, you might be able to get the GR4 as your replacement.

you've got an excellent memory or in accounting or both. take that as a compliment from a player who forgets the score at times. :-?

anyway agree with the GR3...my next pair of shoes.

Well, by profession (and in my personal life) I use Excel spreadsheets to a great degree. I only remember those details because I remember putting them into one of my spreadsheets and only know 25 and 38 uses because they were the most memorable data points on the life of those shoes.

Now if I knew exactly how many hours I put on those shoes that would be extreme (and much more weird). Since I play 2-3 hours on average I estimated roughly 2.5 as the average time per play session x 38 = 95 hours. But I know we typically go a little longer than 2.5 hours so the total would be over 100+ but simply rounded down to 100....
