Closest Modern Day Equivalent To Verdasco Racket

Anybody have any ideas? I've been doing a little research on the forums and creds to ericsson for these specs of Verdasco's racket:

Weight: 330 gram
Balance: 30.8
SW: 285 kg/cm²
Length: 68.5 cm
Gripsize: L2 (custom pallet)
Pattern: 16x19
String: BB original
Tension: 23 kg -21 kg

Also, it has a 98 sq. inch head. I've been looking around and i've found the Tecnifibre TFeel 305, but i was wondering what anybody else was thinking on this one.

Indeed..

Are you sure that swingweight is correct? It's seems extreme low for a pro player. most pros use swingweight from 330 - 350 or something I think.. :|

Those specs are without strings so when strung the swingweight will be a lot higher. As for a racquet, just get a TF320 (Vo2 or non Vo2) and put some lead at the 3 & 9, and some in the handle, and it should come kind of close.

I am very sure, otherwise i don't post, this is giving me by a reliable source. Like mentioned here before, add strings and powerpads + overgrip and you have a completely different SW.

PS: Not every pro play's with a very high SW, this is a very misconception.

Think the source for these specs said they are unstrung.

If so I'd say the prev02 is pretty close at 307 strung.

We have a winner! This is correct - Nando is using a Bullit Elite.

I can confirm that this is correct, but we haven't addressed the OP's post, which asks for the closest modern day equivalent, since the Bullit Elite isn't currently in production or available at retail. Anyone care to take a stab?

I was actually curious if we could do better, because although the mold of the 320's is pretty close, the flex pattern and layup are different. Verdasco's frame is more flexible, I'm pretty sure, and no amount of lead can alter that. Sometimes a different mold may play more closely if the layup and flex pattern are more similar to the frame in question.

If you take those specs, which is unstrung, and string it up with BBO, overgrip. The weight comes out to 349g, balance of 32.1cm, swingweight 346 kg/cm²

How are you calculating the swingweight? Just curious what formula you're using since you don't have the frame in hand.

I took a 320 vo2 and replicated the specs with lead. I referenced the lead at 3&9 from a picture from AO2009. It's about 5-6g of lead at 3&9 and 2-3g lead at 1-1.5 inches from the butt cap. Than strung it up with BBO and put wilson overgrip. Than used the swing weight calculator to get the swing weight. This is assuming that Nando uses 320 vo2, I emailed Tecnifibre to confirm but who knows. But this gives you an idea of what he uses.

Although it's not as accurate as measuring on diagnostic equipment, the calculator isn't that bad. The problem is that Nando's racquet is a Bullit Elite, as mentioned above. The 320 VO2 is just a paint job.

I have been using the calculator for awhile and its works pretty well. Even equipments have variances.

How do you know that its Bullit Elite?

I'm not going into all the ways in which we know this, but you can do a search on these forums. It's been well established. To reveal all the sources would be a waste of time and compromise the anonymity of some of them. But rest assured, many of the current Tecnifibre players are using Major Bullit Elites, and Verdasco is one of them. It's the same mold as a number of other Tecnifibre frames, but not the same racquet.
