good luck with that. i bought some cheap $25 wilsons at Big 5 when i started playing and they were brutal on my feet. the term, you get what you pay for, comes to mind. i'm not advocating the purchase of nike/adidas, which every teenager seemingly cannot live without, but even the other lesser known brands are costly. i've currently got my eye on the NB CT1004, which is close to $100, but comes with a 6 month guarantee.

barricades onle last me a month. i have found good durability in babolats. the ones with warranty. great shoes. i am switching back to babolat shoes

im not sure how you usually wear out your shoes, but I still have my new balance ct1003's after 3 months of practice and friendly matches 3-4 days a week, and a pair of tournaments thrown in the mix. they are the most comfortable shoe so far with the least amount of wear. even though i'm not on the court as much as 5 days a week, i'm a bigger guy at 6'4" 240lbs that is happy living on the baseline for hours at a time, so i do my share of running. so far so good. and i got them for $60 shipped to my door.

I have heard Babolats are terrible when it comes to durability...

They are very very comfortable but wore out in three weeks, they have a huge hole in the toe.

Tennis courts are fairly abrasive due to their gritty finish. Moreso than basketball courts and other sporting fields. Cheap tennis specific shoes simply don't have the tough rubber to outlast playing on tennis courts. It's part of why they are cheap in the first place. I understand the desire for cheap. Having just got my first high quality tennis shoe this year, the Nike Breathe Free II, I can say that even though they are more money they are much better than the cheaper shoes. I would suggest going through TW's clearance page or outlet stores as others suggest so that you can get the good shoes cheaper.

Just buy a good pair of shoes with a 6-month outsole guarantee. It's like getting 2 pairs for the price of 1.
So, you buy Barricades for about $120... wear them out in 5 months... then send them in and they send a replacement pair... for about $20 in shipping fees. At the end of the day... you pay $140 for two pairs of great tennis shoes that will last close to a year.
Like someone else said... you get what you pay for. Cheap tennis shoes are horrible on your feet.

the best bang for the buck are your late-model shoes on clearance. if you find a good deal i'd even suggest buying more than 1 pair.
also, because of online minimum advertised pricing on major name brands you're going to get better deals at retail outlets.

i don't think any shoe will hold up well for 2 months if you play 5 times a week. K-Swiss are pretty durable though. I usually just buy a pair of cheap Adidas or K-Swiss at the SA every 2-3 months.

I'd also suggest spending a reasonable amount on better shoes. If you want to limit the amount of money you spend towards tennis, I'd suggest cutting back on performance apparel.

Cheap shoes that last = oxymoron.
You get what you pay for and to be honest i wouldn't skimp on footwear. Bad footwear can cause some nasty injuries.

The best "Oh my God, I can't believe how long these shoes have held up for me" experience came from a pair of Diadora Speed Zones that I picked up on the classifieds here - they were even 2nd hand! Those sneaks were just incredible for me. I tried a pair of their Speed Fires more recently with more of a so-so experience, but may try the Speed Tech's in the future.
My far and away worst pair were the K-Swiss Ascendors. Actually got the Diadoras before these and kept using the Speed Zones long after the K's were completely shredded. Another model that's gotten some serious praise for its durability though, is the K-Swiss Defier. Of course, everyone's individual mileage can vary...

get a shoe with 6 month durability guarantee. some are around 80-90 so pretty much $40-45 a pair for high quality shoes.
