What strings do you use with your APDC

I am experimenting for fun, but I always come back to and play best with the Topspin Cyberflash 17 gauge around 56 or 57#s. I can't reccomend it enough. It is inexpensive and worth a shot if you want incredible spin and great control of the APDC.

The Big Ace is very nice once broken in , but the break in period is way too long.

Do try Kirschbaum spiky shark... strung @ roughly 56~57.. balance between power & control.. Tried 62lbs... the ball don't make it pass the service line

I have 8 APDs (non cortex version) and have BB ALU power Rough on the mains and Cyberflash 17gauge on the cross.

my fav configuration is 10grams of lead with 53-57pound mains and cross tension.

im about to try the Alu Power Spin for my mains.

Can you compare te big ace to teh cyberflash

Big Ace is softer and more powerful. Not as much control. Probably too much power for me, but I do like the comfort. The break in period is brutal, while the cyberflash is pretty much the same the whole time, which is nice.

That hybrid of ALU Rough/Cyberflash is a pretty impressive idea!

What position is the lead?

I have 4 APDs all with lead on the 10 and 2 o'clock position. I have 1 APD with the weight at 12.

The 10 and 2 position feels more lateral balance for more head racket speed (since I hit with heavy topspin) the 12 position racket feels more power especially for serves.

With weights, my shots are deeper and penetrating than the stock head light APD.

Correct me if i'm Wrong. The APD is 2 points for head heavier than APDC.. When i put 10 Grams more on each side 3 & 9 O'clock on the APD, the racket's balance tipped the mid point where as the same weighs on the APDC remains balanced..

I have my APDs leaded, too. Three grams total at 3 and 9 o'clock, and four grams under the grip. It's more stable, more controllable, and still has plenty of spin. It's a very subtle difference, but I've been very happy with the results.

I string mine with 18g Ashaway Kevlar mains @60#
I use either Head 18g PPS or Alpha 18g crosses at 60#

Lasts about 10 - 15 sets but nice dead feel and best spin producing set up I've found

I have an APDC BUT dont play with because it feels weird. I didnt/dont feel the 2pts head heavy as compared to the APD.

With 10grams more on each side, having 20 grams total on the head is quite a HUGE change IMO. My 4.5grams on the 10 and 4.5grams on the 2 position with a 2.5grams on the butt was enough. The weight is definitley a part of customization BUT 10-12grams from stock was enough to feel the dramatic change for me.

Are you sure about your statement of "When i put 10 Grams more on each side 3 & 9 O'clock on the APD"?
