Quick review of the Gamma Monoblast 16 poly

Had a chance to string my Dunlop Aerogel 300 with the Gamma Monoblast 16 poly string last night. Tension is probably 55lbs all around, maybe 1-2% higher.

Gamma Monoblast sells for $4.25 a set, $68 + shipping on TW.

Impressions:
It's a decent poly string. From a looks perspective, doesn't look like an expensive poly string. It's see through, didn't have the Luxilon poly smell to it when opening the set pouch. It appears stiff as hell, but when hitting a tennis ball it's not as stiff as it appears. Although it still is quite stiff, much stiffer than Lux BB Power and Topspin CF. It does pretty much everything a poly string should, generate spin, does not move, lower power, etc... It just doesn't excel above the competition.

For the money, I would rather spend it on an alternative poly. Pro Supex Big Ace comes to mind. Top Spin CF owns it hands down.

An overall grade, I'd give it 6.5/7.0 out of 10.

hmm for the price its not too bad though right? did you string full poly? i always like to hybrid to give me the extra power.

Yep, full poly on the aerogel 300.

Before writing the brief review yesterday, that was after a quick session hitting against the wall. After work last night, I went out to hit at the courts. I found the strings to be quite horrible in comparison to Lux. To the point of being unusable.

For the price, I would definitely go with another string. After hitting last night, I cut the the strings and restrung with Top Spin Poly Polar. I'll see which string is better.
