Court Usage - Should one person w/ ball machine be able to hold a court?

Yes because he is making good use out of the court. He got there before you and he is allowed just as much as anyone else to use the ball machine because it makes sense. Now if it was just ball tossing like another guy made a thread, thats different. People spend a lot of money on those machines. I had one and sold mine.

Yes. I hold one even if I'm just hitting against the wall. Usually it isn't an issue as there are plenty of other courts to hit on but when they do get filled up on the rare occasion I do not give up my court. Fortunately it's private in that K college is not a publicly funded school so first come first....ummmmm.....hit 
! There are enough courts in town that someone can go somewhere else and play if they don't like me taking up the court. Same thing with just hitting serves. As long as it's actual hitting or practicing then you're good to go. Although I admit that I am fortunate in that I'm usually far better than anybody else there so people don't tend to give me guff.

If someone with a ball machine should be able to use a court, should someone just practicing serves also be able to use that same court, even if there are two people wanting to play? What's the difference between that and the ball machine? What's the difference between that and two players playing?

It depends. If they are private courts and the guy paid to the club for one hour, then of course yes.
If they are public courts I think a fairer distribution would be, let's say, 45 min for person involved, i.e.:
- Guy practicing serves or with ball machine: 45 min.
- Singles match: 90 min.
- Doubles match: 180 min.

Of course they should still be able to use. Thats why it's a PUBLIC court, ANYONE can use it. Keyword USE. Amount of people is in no way a measure of who should and shouldnt use a public court. So when a doubles team arrives, should singles still be able to use the court? I mean, thats just ridiculous.

I've had people waiting on me while I use my ballmachine. When that's the case I only use it for 1 hour.
I've also asked if anyone wants to hit with me instead, I'd be happy to put away the machine and hit with them instead but I've never had anyone take me up on the offer. The way I see it is...I'm willing to share the court...If they'd rather wait then hit with me then I can continue to use my Bmachine guiltfree.

No. For one, ball machines are noisy and distracting to others around him. Balls are bound to be everywhere, even on other's courts. However, if it's a private club and the person reserves the court, I'd say yes, he should be allowed to use it as long as it doesn't distract others. Some facilities have a separate court for this purpose. As for a public court, if someone pulled out a ball machine next to me, I'd be smacking balls at him while he's trying to groundstroke. I'd have every used ball in my bag out, and when my playing partner hit it to me, I'd aim everyone at the guy using the machine, hoping he'd get the message.
