yes but when hours upon hours of hard work and preparation are envolved it gets a little tough out there,This is Rog its who he is if you cant understand i wont bother explaining it, its raw emotion not somthing thats planned or rehursed, he gets caught up in the moment he is only human and a great one at that!Different circumstances.
People honor criers in victory. People don't honor criers in defeat.
That's the vibe I get from TT at least...

Everyone cries when they win, it's expected, but Roger cries when he loses. I'm surprised he didn't cry last night.

Not after the amazing summer he's had and the records that he broke. He said it himself, "You can't win everything". I don't think this loss is very hard on him. Give him a few days.
Roger Federer is like a baby that always cries if he wins or if he looses and generally people hate the bothering cries of babys...Juan Martin Del Potro Crys and you guys LIKE him.

I don't see what's so wrong with crying when you're sad about a loss. You cry when people you care about die, right? Because you're sad. Federer was sad when he lost the AO and he cried. It's something people do when they're sad.

Hah exactly.
There's different forms of crying. I think a fair number of people here cringed when they saw Fed's undignified bawling. It looked like the crying of a kid who did not get his wish.
Plus the fact he'd already won 13 majors at that point... and it still wasn't enough for him. It seemed very self-centered and inconsiderate to an overjoyed Rafa... who was gracious enough to console the bawling Federer.
It's been 8 months now and you're still talking about this???
This is life and people cry for many varied reasons...
In Grand Slam finals for pro players there's a lot of emotion on the line as you can (or cannot) imagine...
How about we move on? IT'S BEEN 8 MONTHS.

If you've got nothing to add to the subject at hand, why post?
Crying when you lose is funny.
I lost all respect for Roger
I actually think when he lost Wimbledon and he ran off the court and then later cried for Mcenroe was even funnier.
I dont hate hiom or anything....I just think he is really sorta funny.
I mean the 800 dollar haircuts ,the man purse was pathetic, the cosmetic line and his wimbledon costume was pathetic......but then his crying.....well that was just downright funny.
There is nothing to add. Your post and the posts of others who just want to crap on and make someone look bad just because they cried because of your notions of what Roger was thinking are immature and infantile.
If you want to crap on about that, then I have every right to crap on about how angry I am that people are still discussing this.
Don't you have anything better to talk about?
Go write a poem about Serena's anger attack or something...
It'd probably make a good rap/rnb song...
You know what? I don't care all that much what athletes do before and after matches. I mean, it is great to see a great personality to go with a great game. But... These people are bred and trained to do one thing for the most part. Compete and win.
If you want a great personality go find a person exploring deep spirituality. Athletes for the most part are pretty focused on the winning thing, and it is pretty hard for most of them to be chatty and congenial.
That being said, Del Potro, seems like such a nice kid, genuinely, that his energy composed Federer to behave as well as he did. Federer would have seemed so out of place, if he had acted any other way.
I thought Del Potro was really cool in his reaction. I imagine he has a whole country's expectations on his back, and he probably cried out of happiness for himself and THEM.
