Your Favorite Vapors of all time

I think that the best vapors to come out were the 5s. A total step up from the vapor 4s (in my opinion), they displayed more comfort and a more solid supported feel. The color-ways also were great. The first color-way was a bit shaky as usual. Then nike released the mesh and black shoe to satisfy everyone's craving for a black shoe after federer wore one in the 2007 Us Open (night matches only). Then came the actual Us Open vapor 5s (2008 Us open). this included a white and red show for day matches and white and beige for night matches (including the final). My opinion is that the beige vapor 5s were the best vapors released. I actually got lucky and copped one of the 50 sold within 4 hours of release at the Nike Us Open store!

I really like the Vapor Speed colorways ie. the blue/yellow and the obsidian/yellow. My next two favorites probably have to be the 08 and 09 Aussie Open Vapors V and VI. I guess im a sucker for blue.

Actually, Federer wore the red & white vapor 5 for the 2008 USO final. He only wore the white and smoke version once in the entire tournament, and that was in the first round. Guess Federer didn't really follow the night or day outfit schedule as intended last year. But I agree with you completely about the vapor 5, its a great looking shoe, more muscular-looking compared to the flywire vapor 6. My favourite vapor 5s are his Madrid/Basel black and white version, and both the white & smoke and the red & white USO versions that you mentioned - I happen to have all 3 :)

^He wore the white & smoke version only in the first round because it was his only scheduled night match.

In terms of visual appeal, I like the Vapor VI 'oreos' and the blue one he wore at the 2005 Aussie Open.

They're all fine, but they changed the fit of the VI. It's too wide in the forefoot. Big mistake, at least for my foot.

I liked the IV best I think, golds.

While the Vapor VI is nice after you get used to them, the Vapor V is, IMHO, the best tennis shoe produced to date. Easy to move in, exceedingly comfortable and flexible, and a very classy look.

I like the white/black/red Vapor IVs the best. Solid tough shoe, never had the slipperyness of the Vs in the beginning. IVs had excellent traction from day one, and they look better. I just don't like the way the white Vs look.
