Nobody else will know what this means since I edited my post. Thanks.

Have you played any NTRP tournaments? That is really the best way to find out your NTRP. One problem SSGator and I were talking about is that hardly anybody plays the 5.0 tournaments around here, so if you want to play in a 16 man draw, most of the 5.0s will drop down and play the 4.5s. I can tell you that SSGator is not the typical 4.5 I've played in the NTRPs. They usually have a weakness you can pick on versus the 5.0s.

Hey Bad Call,

Do you happen to have contact info for Photoshop ? He indicated on this thread that he is located in the same area of town as me. Thanks

Mikeler, I got my Babolats at Etennis on Fairbanks and 2 on this site. You can have them customized at ETennis.

What you should do is their demo program. It's 25 bucks and you get 6 months to try any racquet you want, then you get the 25 bucks off whatever racquet you purchase. It's pretty nice.

Thanks for the info. How much did you pay for your rackets?

The babolat is 179. I paid 15 bucks to get it customized.

Prepare to have some nights where you feel like you forgot how to play tennis at first. I had one tonight. My timing was off, but the racquet feels great and I can easily adjust to it after a few more hours.

Looks like it has the attributes I'm looking for. I'm not playing all that well at the moment anyways, so now is the time to try something new.

Took one on the chin this morning. I lost 2 and 1. I have not had that many double faults in a match for a long time. Probably 2 per game. I did get about 5 aces mixed in along the way, but that was a small consolation. We played a practice 3rd half set and we finished at 3-3. I started going for my shots and that just seemed to fix a lot of my timing issues. Got a guy tomorrow who has only beaten me once, so maybe I can regain some confidence before my next match against the ssgator...

What kind of sticks do you use? Also, it looks like you do have the 90 Minute in your fridge. Far left on the 3rd level.

My elbow did great today until I broke my synthetic gut strings. I used an 8x8 string saver pattern on it and of course, the next main string over broke! 3 stinking matches, I wish that stuff was more durable.

I had to pull out my BA/GS hybrid after that and it was a little uncomfortable. That could have also been due fatigue from being on the court for over an hour too.

What is BAM? I have some Big Ace I'm using now in the mains of a few of my sticks. I had some Sunset Wheat last night and some Sam Adams Octoberfest. Just needed a break from the IPAs.

This Youtek Radical Pro is awesome. I grabbed the demo since I only have a few weeks left in the program. It's got the high swingweight and is still light at around 11.5 strung. Real flexy, so nice on the arm too. I'd reccomend trying it out. The apdc is also doing well with the added weight, but I have a lot more noticeable control with the Radical, an I can still hit deep. So it's decsion time.

This last weekend will be known as a Double Fault fest for me. I still pulled out the W yesterday but should have won much easier. I double faulted an entire game away. This brace is doing something to my motion that I'm not liking. I probably only double fault 2 or 3 times per match normally, not 12 to 15 times.

Oh man, double faults kill me, but I have been working on my serve and it has gotten better. For me, the toss placement is real key.

As for the Youtek, I hit with a club member that has really helped out my overall game. He noticed stuff in my footwork that helped me a lot. I went back and forth with the apdc and the youtek and he said I was miles better with the Head. It kind of makes sense since I grew up playing classic Heads and Princes. So I am going to go with that and probably sell or trade the apdcs.

How many of them do you own? How does $5/stick sound? :)

Hey Bad_Call, ssgator and I are going to play at 3 PM on Wednesday to accommodate a change in my schedule.

haha..im trying to trade or sell my customized one now. It's in good shape..has a few chips, but plays as new. I'd sell it for $80, $5 is a little low..lol.

Sounds good. Maybe you can hit with ssgator after we finish. My fitness is lacking at the moment, so I should look like a beaten dog if you get there at the end. Of course, Wednesday the high is only supposed to be 85 so maybe I'll be OK.

Looks like Im going with the Rad, but I was hitting with it yesterday and the base of my ring finger started bugging me. It may just be a new blister getting used to the grip shape(leather grip with tourna on it). You guys ever have something like this happen with a new racquet?

Besides that I am happy with the racquet.

Yes, I've had that happen with a new grip.

Ok nice! I was a little worried about that one. The grip is such a perfect shape too that I was getting bummed that it was bugging my hand. Ill probably switch to some Tourna Tac for a little while to get more padding and that should help too.

Rats, I'm coming down with a fever. I'm supposed to play a doubles league match for the first time in a few years tonight which I was excited about and of course was supposed to play ssgator tomorrow. I just can't seem to get court time these last few months. :(

That sucks man..drink water like crazy. I take a ton of Vitamin C too and eat fruit and I have escaped more then one sickness this way.

Looks like Azalea is shut down in 2 days to have the courts resurfaced for a month. So I am going to ramp up my playtime at OTC to compensate.

Why can't they just shut down 1 or 2 courts at a time?

I don't know. I am going to go check it out and see what they do once it begins since I can basically walk there.

At OTC, they'll typically take no more than 2 courts down at once and that is only for major rehab. If they are just replacing the lines and throwing more clay down, they only take one court down at a time.

Feeling better today, so I'm still planning on getting out there with ssgator at 3 PM. Hopefully I don't have a relapse on the court!

I don't have any cough/sneeze/sore throat. This was a stomach ache that started coming on Monday. Then yesterday it got worse and that is when the fever started. Now I'm on day 3 and I have a very mild fever and some slight stomach pain. So hopefully by tomorrow it will be completely gone. My big thing is not to get the little one at home sick or Momma! My wife banished me to my in-laws last night so I would not spread anything if it was something more serious like the flu.

I think I read that you use Supergrap. Well I grabbed some yesterday just to change the feel of my grip to alleviate the finger pain. Damn, this grip is real nice. Weather was nice so I didnt sweat like crazy, but I had zero issues hanging onto the racquet. I guess I may stick with it, at least during the colder months since it seems to last longer then tourna.

I love Supergrap even in hot weather. I sweat so much the tournagrip just can't absorb it all. Bad_call watched my double fault crisis continue tonight against ssgator. They hit some balls after I left.

Damn, I should have gone to this event! lol

I played pretty darn well the first set but got broken once and that is all "The Gator" needed to win 6-4. Just like last match the 2nd set started close at 2-2, but the gator gets stronger with time and then runs out the set.

Bad_call looks like he has some nice strokes. Definitely a good guy just to go out and hit some balls with.

mikeler and ssgator - nice to meet and watch you two play. gonna take me a while to get used to playing har-tru again. good stuff but the bounces at times made me look like a baseball batter up at plate swinging for a curve ball.

It was good meeting you too bad_call. When I told you last night that you missed my best shot, I said that half in jest. I hit a decent defensive slice forehand cross court that ssgator made it to in plenty of time. It hit the line and just took off sideways for a winner. It's great when those bounces go in your favor, but it sucks when it goes the other way especially on a set or match point.

I'm starting to wonder if my DFs are from using a low tension? Last night I played without the brace, so that removes that from the equation.

groundies and volleys are more affected by low tension than serves from my experience...but then again only a relatively lower tension (not large differentials).

The first time I played on the Har Tru at OTC I felt like an idiot trying to anticpate the bounces. But I really like clay style courts because you can easily tell when the ball hits the lines, it's good on your knees and it suits my heavy topspin game.

They are fast clay courts compared to others around the area. I noticed bad_call has a new signature sure to generate some excitement in the political forums. I'm sensing another 2 week ban :)

I turned it off after 5 minutes. I was hoping for HD flying shots through the Grand Canyon not black and white history! Actually I caught more like 15 minutes of it before I went to bed.

Took a glance at The Gator's draw. Looks like he should sail to the semis and then the real battle for the tournament will begin. Keep us updated if you can ssgator.
