Drinking a Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA. What an awesome beer.
Thanks for the info. How much did you pay for your rackets?
The babolat is 179. I paid 15 bucks to get it customized.
Prepare to have some nights where you feel like you forgot how to play tennis at first. I had one tonight. My timing was off, but the racquet feels great and I can easily adjust to it after a few more hours.
What kind of sticks do you use? Also, it looks like you do have the 90 Minute in your fridge. Far left on the 3rd level.
My elbow did great today until I broke my synthetic gut strings. I used an 8x8 string saver pattern on it and of course, the next main string over broke! 3 stinking matches, I wish that stuff was more durable.
I had to pull out my BA/GS hybrid after that and it was a little uncomfortable. That could have also been due fatigue from being on the court for over an hour too.
using the MG Prestige Pro a lot these days. and that's not my fridge tho i wish. got lured by the Belgian beer thread and got a Chimay Blue today. WOW...those monks know beer.
anyway maybe try BAM mains if u get a chance. really like that poly tho still trying others that i got in a couple string trades.
What is BAM? I have some Big Ace I'm using now in the mains of a few of my sticks. I had some Sunset Wheat last night and some Sam Adams Octoberfest. Just needed a break from the IPAs.
Oh man, double faults kill me, but I have been working on my serve and it has gotten better. For me, the toss placement is real key.
As for the Youtek, I hit with a club member that has really helped out my overall game. He noticed stuff in my footwork that helped me a lot. I went back and forth with the apdc and the youtek and he said I was miles better with the Head. It kind of makes sense since I grew up playing classic Heads and Princes. So I am going to go with that and probably sell or trade the apdcs.
mikeler - thanks for the update. if i can get there, will bring my gear. u can give the Prestige Pro a try if u like.
Looks like Im going with the Rad, but I was hitting with it yesterday and the base of my ring finger started bugging me. It may just be a new blister getting used to the grip shape(leather grip with tourna on it). You guys ever have something like this happen with a new racquet?
Besides that I am happy with the racquet.
That sucks man..drink water like crazy. I take a ton of Vitamin C too and eat fruit and I have escaped more then one sickness this way.
Looks like Azalea is shut down in 2 days to have the courts resurfaced for a month. So I am going to ramp up my playtime at OTC to compensate.
I don't know. I am going to go check it out and see what they do once it begins since I can basically walk there.
At OTC, they'll typically take no more than 2 courts down at once and that is only for major rehab. If they are just replacing the lines and throwing more clay down, they only take one court down at a time.
Feeling better today, so I'm still planning on getting out there with ssgator at 3 PM. Hopefully I don't have a relapse on the court!
could be allergies. had a bout with them on the weekend. sudafed helped.
I think I read that you use Supergrap. Well I grabbed some yesterday just to change the feel of my grip to alleviate the finger pain. Damn, this grip is real nice. Weather was nice so I didnt sweat like crazy, but I had zero issues hanging onto the racquet. I guess I may stick with it, at least during the colder months since it seems to last longer then tourna.
Damn, I should have gone to this event! lol
mikeler and ssgator - nice to meet and watch you two play. gonna take me a while to get used to playing har-tru again. good stuff but the bounces at times made me look like a baseball batter up at plate swinging for a curve ball.
I'm starting to wonder if my DFs are from using a low tension? Last night I played without the brace, so that removes that from the equation.
The first time I played on the Har Tru at OTC I felt like an idiot trying to anticpate the bounces. But I really like clay style courts because you can easily tell when the ball hits the lines, it's good on your knees and it suits my heavy topspin game.
They are fast clay courts compared to others around the area. I noticed bad_call has a new signature sure to generate some excitement in the political forums. I'm sensing another 2 week ban
 nah!!! if that world nut daily wacko gets creepy and vile again, just let the admins do their job.
that program (in the signature) is being aired this week. beautiful, interesting and makes one appreciate all the effort/sacrifices our forefathers made to keep safe the natural resources for all to experience.
What Tourney is this? A USTA Turkey Lake one?
