Strings That Don't Move?

I hit with lots of topspin off of both sides and am tired of always re-aligning my strings after my shots. Are there any strings out there besides Luxilon that don't move? I love the playability of Luxilon Big Banger Alu, but find it a bit harsh on my arm/shoulder.

Prince recoil, it may be pricey and not the best playability but its very comfortable and they dont move at all.

From what I've seen, I have to agree here. One of the demo racket from a local store had these and i was surprised to see the beat up strings weren't moving much.

almost every poly doesn't move. That's one of the things that people love( myself included ).

When a poy starts moving, it's time for a restring, just like prosealster said.

As already stated, most new CoPolys don't move at all, and when they do move, it's a sure sign you should cut them out and restring with a new set.

Other than that - Prince Recoil.

If you want to do tweaks youself to avoid string movement, then try adding Babolat Elastocross string savers in a pattern to your stringbed - this will also greatly reduce any string movement IF YOU PLACE THE STRING SAVERS IN A GOOD CORRECT PATTERN !

I'm liking my topspin cyber blue strings right now. It's soft and it doesn't move. However, I hit very flat so I'm not sure if it wouldn't move for you though.

Since all polys don't move, which polys are less harsh on your arm, yet still don't move? My only experience is with Lux BB Alu 16 - I really like how it plays and doesn't move, but am looking for something a bit softer. Lux BB Flouro 17, maybe?

the luxilons are a little harsher than most polys...i've heard the flouro is a little softer, but still like the other luxilons, they loose tension fairly quickly...i would give the msv focus hex, Signum pro hyperion, technifibre black code, or weiss cannon silver string a try...you can hybrid them with a soft multi -- there are sooo many other good polys out there other than the luxilons...good luck!

I agree.

Luxilon strings and Pro Hurricane Tour are all poly's of the older generation and they die very fast and are harsh on the arm, they feel boardy as soon as they dies and loose all of their alreasy limited elasticity.

The Luxilon Fluoro and M2 are Luxilons try at producing a more arm friendly poly alternative, but they still die very fast and have very poor tension maintenance and weak tension stability.

I would recommend you to try some of the new softer CoPoly 4.th generation alternatives, which have EXCELLLENT tension maintenance and fantastic tenstion stability.
WeisCannon SuperTwist, Tecnifibre Black Code, MSV FOCUS HEX and my two current overall favorites:

Signum Pro Hyperion - nice power, good spin, excellent tension retention, good feel and very nice black color
Signum Pro Tornado - nice spin, good comfort, great feel and great tenaion retention and very nice black color.

Try running Gaucho Gut in the crosses. I also like Alu power, plus combined with gut takes away the harshness. I string fairly low Alu(50lbs.) & gut (53). I play about 1 1/2 hrs. a day and the strings start to move around the 3rd week. Recently tried "Revenge" in the same set up, not much movement and good feel. With the price of Gaucho Gut @ 14.00 a set you can afford to experiment more, plus Poly dies fairly fast & you still have expensive gut that's perfectly fine. Strung VS in the past, so GG is a conciderable savings. Hope that helps a little? PS- I still experiment with crosses and Gosen Micro Sheep is an excellent string, as many of you have stated. Would you have much movement with a poly in the mains & gosen in the crosses?

sppp is one of the softest playing polys on the market...it doesnt move, and doesnt hurt your arm....i have been using it for 3-4 years now and its the best string out there for me....

So I just hit today with my racquet strung w/Lux Big Banger and finally noticed that the strings moved from my topspin - A nice arch on all my mains.

Does this mean my strings are "dead?" They didn't feel much different...

I calculate that I put about nine hours of hitting/match time on those strings, strung about five weeks ago. Does that sound about the right time for the strings to go dead?

Try Head Sonic Pro. Alot of top juniors in my area love this string. It's a poly so it won't move either. To bad ALU Power is rough on the joints it's great to play with!

Anything new to add here?
Strings that don’t move - not poly.

I normally use full bed poly. But I may mix it up this winter. Or at least go hybrid.

4.0 good racket head speed and power
Generally use soft co poly at 52lbs
Lower power frames generally.
