gut/poly or poly/gut(or multi) for comfort?

I am having a mild TE. Actually I am in the recovery phase and I would say that now is much better.
I used to string fully poly (cyber flash) but now I am testing more arm friendly setups.
I am mainly using a frame with nat gut (gaucho) in the mains at 58lb and a soft poly (SpinX) in the crosses at 52lb.
It is very comfortable compared to full poly, and I am getting used to soft stringbed in therms of control.
Last night I've tried a setup with Spin-X in the mains (at 52lb) and Babolat X-cel in the crosses (at 54lb).
This last setup felt more arm-friendly and I don't understand why.
Is my feel biased by the fact that I played full poly for such a long time OR it is possible that poly in the mains with a soft string in the crosses can be more comfortable than gut/poly?
thank you in advance.
cheers

I tried a full poly once and i got a bit of TE from it. I then went to a hybrid with poly in the mains and a synthetic gut in the crosses, this makes it much softer.
You have used a full poly and know how hard it is so yes you will always notice that the hybrid is softer. The cross strings are the ones that give you the power and so are the ones that will provide you with feel. In my opnion a full gut or synthetic gut is too soft while a hybrid gives a bit more feel.
Whether you get TE depends on your strings and your racket and whether you use a vibraton dampener.
What racket do you use and do you use a vibration dampener?

It could be that your NG hybrid (with NG in the mains) was strung at a much higher tension than your poly hybrid. A lot of these softer poly's that are out there now (like your Spin X) don't need a massive drop in tension when compared to SG or even NG. That could be your reason why.

thank you for your reply.
As far as I know, the vib dampener seems not to affect shock on the arm, but only vibration of the strings.
Shock on the arm is "supposed" to come more from energy/vibration of the frame in response to the impact with the ball (especially when you it away from the sweet spot).
btw, I use a small babolat dampener.

Your right it does come from the frame but the strings contribute and so a vibration dampener helps take away a bit of the extra vibration. When I got my share of TE I was using a Wilson K90 but now I use a Head Youtek Radical MP which is a nice soft racket and as of yet I have had no TE problems.
If your TE is getting better with the new hybrid set up then I suggest you stick with it and don't use a full poly again.
