what do you guys think of this...?

I just started stringing for my friends' racquets, so far the result and feedback from them are very positive.

Now I am thinking about doing it for more people in the club.

So I need to stock some stings, what do you guys think if I start off with these two types of strings:

1) Maxim Touch 16g and 17g

2) Prince SynGut Duraflex 16g and 17g

3) Wilson KGut 16g and 17g

I don't have poly right now because I found not too many people use poly, but if the demand is getting higher, then I will import poly strings.

You might ask how come I carry two types of multi, the KGut is actually my personal strings, I find it very good so I just put it in.

Any opinion is welcome

K-Gut is expensive and most players at the club level will not feel a difference. Save yourself money and replace it with sensation.

The list is good.. If you will only be K-gut for personal use, it is fine.. otherwise it is too expensive to stock.. the other 2 choices will be a big favorite among your customers

BTW, I would also stock up on a cheap poly as some of your customers may want something that doesnt break as quick as the strings mentioned.. perhaps a mini-reel of the topspin cyber flash would be a good choice

Agree, I believe poly will get on my list, there're just so many choice and type out there, ie poly, co-poly, shape, from all different brand names....

I will start doing a research on poly when the demand is high enough, and probably do a survey on which particular type is them most popular.

I'd do Prince's Premier with Softflex and Babolat's Addiction for your multis; two different feels, one's softer than the other.

And a similar synthetic gut contrast would be Babolat's N.vy, which is more muted yet tough too, and Prince's Original Synthetic Gut. When you don't need to stock poly now, why in effect try and stuff it down the throat of some club player who doesn't get out that often and doesn't need that shoulder pain it comes with?

Tried Addiction once for myself, plays pretty good, but lost tension pretty quickly... I think that's one of the character of Babolat strings, cos that's what I heard from other users and what I've experience.

I might stay with SynGut/ Duraflex, lots of people in the club use it and the price is good.

BTW, if I have to choose a poly, regardless the brand, shaped or round?

As for poly...I would go for Gosen Polyon and MSV Focus Hex are cheap strings that would give you variety and are decent strings.

After a month+ of stringing, I am deciding of purchasing a reel of poly.

I look up the MSV Hex, and also the Topspin Cyber Flash 1.25 or 1.20

Any comments with these two strings?

I heard the Cyber Flash breaks very easy, is it true?

I have little playing experience with poly(shoulder problem), any comments/ideas is appreciated

Should I just go for the Polylon 17g reel, which is about $31.95 in TW?

How is the performance on spin on this string?

Since I will also do hybrid on this poly, I want some string that can generate good amount of spins, that's why I am looking at those 'shaped' poly too.

Just my 2 cent...the cheap "shaped" polys really round out when stretched or after they are hit with for a short while lose their "shape". A thinner gauge string, like polylon 17g, will offer a decent amount of spin and you won't spend a great deal on it.

thank you pheonix, I will go ahead to get a reel of 17g, since you and whitehat both suggest.

I bet this string should work well with the Maxim Touch.
