^^hahah. Married life is good. We are preparing to buy a place at the tennis club where we met, so are very excited. Other than that, been stringing like crazy, including at the Nike National at Cris Everts tennis Academy a few weeks ago.

Here is my buddies Opus. He was stringing my kps88: His screen name is MDQM.

^^Great view.

How do you like those base clamps?? Are they solid, smooth, etc?? I was thinking of buying a pair as a back up pair for my babolat Star 4.

Well; heres my view from the window just next to my machine. I could move the machine out on the deck like you do, but thats not too practical, especially in the winter!

the clamps are fine, although i'm sure they're not as smooth as some of the "finer" units. other than glide bars and floaters, they are the only ones i've used.

ignorance is bliss.

View is fantastic. Where is that?

Asheville, NC. Enka Lake.

Do I spy like 4-5 boxes a Babolat gut in that back corner?!

Star 5 15, you have a good eye..... Yes, I have a customer who I string for who only will use VS. I string his racquet's every two weeks whether they need it or not. He is retired and plays daily.

Hi zapvor - yeah, the room is in my basement. When my wife and I bought the house, we had the basement done (orig unfinished), but couldn't decide what to do with the room in the picture, so it remained unfinished until about 1.5 months ago. It was my idea, but my father-in-law gets the credit for constructing it. Comes in handy, keeps things neat and organized.

well snap thats most outstanding! thanks for sharing. mind giving us a few tips on how that gets constructed? did he frame the studs differently to do the sunken in look?

Thanks - used 2X6s to frame it out, give it more depth, then slapped a few pieces of pine together, tacked on the peg board, nailed it in, then put up the drywall. I also put in a countertop with 3 drawers (not shown of course). Comes in handy for replacing grips, grommets/bumper guards...and working on computers for family/friends lol. It's not done yet - have to install carpet and mount my tv to the wall...buy another small fridge (gave my old one to one of my students, a college kid), then I'll be all set. I think. :)

There are a total of 23 courts (3 hard, 20 har-tru). The Solomon Academy is housed there, as well as several top pros train there throughout the year. To add, there are a few national championships as well as a international championship played there. Of course, there are also some usta local tourneys as well. Great place to live for a tennis maniac.

Magic Man!! Great to hear from you. Yes, I'll give you a call. I didn't realize your eagnas had these same base clamps. Thanks!

thanks for the reply. where do you buy a peg board? i was originally going to design a wall pattern to hang all my rackets, but as i add more sticks i would have to reconfigure the pattern, so thats not as feasible....

Here is my current setup. It is a Pro's Pro Pilot.
Looking to get a stand but the lovely pine table will have to do for now. It slips around a bit on it but hey!

This is an Alpha Equinox I built with all original parts, with a 2086 for the tensioning system
It was an awesome rig. I loved it.
This pic was taken the day I shipped it to the guy who bought it from me.
2 days after I bough my Star 5
Wonder how long it'll take me to get 120k on mine!!!

I'm guessing this is a spare bedroom or do you really keep your stringer that close to your bed?

Its a definite spair bedroom no alarm clock next to the bed or any important items on the bed stand and theres a book shelf. All that stuff on the bed. Also looks very neat carpet floor would'nt need to be vacumed

Wrong - it is my room :D you dont see a built in cupboard in my room which the machine is stored in and brought out infront of the tv when i am stringing :)

Radio is on the bedside table to the left of my bed but you can't see it :D

Dear lord, you move that thing every time you want to string? You have my sympathy sir! :) I do think that is too beautiful of a piece of machinery to keep locked away in a cupboard.

You don't like using the stand?

I was thinking of take off the side arms and having them chromed or chrome powder coated.

I do like the stand, except I'm crowed for room, it was easier to store the stand than that chest, besides, the chest with that marble top, is very solid, a lot more solid than the stand was.

The side arms? that hold the racquets? That would be cool, these could use a little bling, they look a little dated. Maybe, take off the paneling and paint it a nice deep deep dark blue, instead of for what ever reason why they did, the faded looking light blue they opted for.

^^ Thanks!! I love it, with the new Base clamps it is very fast and smooth I mean you can operate the clamp and clamping with one hand! You unclamp/clamp with one hand, and your getting ready for the next thread with the other.. how cool is that?

I just picked up this Neos today. I strung on one during the mid 90's to 2003 as well as a Babolat Star 3. After the shop closed I bought myself an Eagnas Combo 810 which always worked fine but I never forgot my beloved Neos and resolved to own one. It's missing a couple of screws (one for calibration and the little screw and spring on the string gripper) and the break pads are a bit worn but it did come with three brand new clamps which I'm happy about. I'd say in about a week or so she'll be ready to string.

^^Nice find. BTW if you want to touch up the paint--I suggest priming with a good metal primer and using black and silver appliance paint. Good luck with this workhorse.

Agree, I have recently touched up Ol Betsy (my Ektelon DE) using some Sky Blue and Matte Black Hammerite spray paint. She's come up a treat and although she's only a back-up now incease of power failure it's still nice to know she's looking smart ready for use!!!

Thank Max. I'm feeling pretty excited having my old baby back. I'm not familiar with appliance paint. Is there a specific brand you'd recommend?
