got mine now, both strung in alu rough 55lbs. feels great, just lacking a bit of depth but that will come with timing. might add a few grams at 3 and 9 and maybe add a softer string in a hybrid?

No problem man. I did play with the Non GT version of the regular storm last year. Kinda remembered putting it down after 5 shots, really did not like it. Didn't liked it at all. Too light, too little mass and a too tiny sweet spot.
What I can remember Zap. Been a while.

Agree that it's too light. Nice feel, good control, but no blast and you get outgunned by 3.5+ players or big hitters. Also a unstable against heavy hitters. I've tried 8g lead at 3+9 and some in the handle, but it doesn't feel quite right. The tour was too heft for me though as an all round racquet but my 1HB was amazing - could rip cross court winners all day long!

The more I play with this frame the more I like it.
The only one thing that bothers me is that one of my three frames is 5 gr heavier and a little more head-heavy.

Always make sure to get them swingweight, weight and balance matched prior to purchasing them :)

So am I. I was really struggling mentally the last weeks playing this racket, so I tried A LOT of other ones like the Head Prestige and Radical. ( Just did not have any power on shots), the BLX Tour ( good but too light) , the BLX (six-one 18x20 (good but lack of spin), Dunlop 4D 200 16x19 (good but lack of feel), Dunlop 4D 300 Tour ( too light, no spin acces).
I always keep getting back to my PST. And I'm loving it the more I play with it. I finally found my heavy spin forehand again! The only thing that still bothers me a bit is the lack of maneuverability on low balls when I want to spin them back on the FHside. But other than that, I'm ordering my fourth racket. I love them!

Maybe I could say, this is the perfect combination between the Control of a Prestige and Spin/power of a PD/APDC

torre what strings are you using?
I am now playing with full PolyStar Energy and loving it.
Still keep one frame with hybrid for those days when my arm hurts a little.

Count me in!

Use this frame for doubles, due to the fact that i can volley like a champ with this frame. One of the best touch frames I have ever used.

Hey,
I'm currently using a full bed of Black Code 1.24 @ 25kg. Have tried the MSV HEX and SPPP but both gave me some arm pain. I also tried the X1 Biphase. Not good for this racket.
The last string I tried is the Pacific Xforce 17. I would suggest to string that a bit higher than your normal string, it is very powerful.

Cheers

ive started using the PST GT+ and am very happy with how solid it is compared to its black and red predecessor. Its flex seems somewhat more uniform too.

Ive added 12g of lead @ 9&3 as even tho this is a stable frame the hoop feels a little tinny with slight off centre hits. Also a leather grip and og to compensate for the weight in the head.

My new spec is 362g, 10pts HL, 61ra, SW 350ish, obviously serve is great with the plus version, I am also very pleased with the ease and depth of the forehand, volleying Im still getting used to and my bh is sound with most rackets. Really surprised at return of serve with the plus, something I thought with the extra length i might struggle.

As good a players racket Ive used, the feel is unique with the woofer system, its soft and buttery like older 90s rackets like Heads Graphite Pro, really deadened feel, I like that feel so it wont be a problem but i can understand other players who like more feedback will stay away for the Babs. Its also a lot less powered than I thought it would be and a lot more controlled which is pleasing. Its also much more of a dense pattern than I thought the 16 x 20 misses two main strings near the edges and has 8 grommet holes in the throat.

Ive strung mine with Alu @ 58lbs and its more powerful than my standard length stringjobs @ 55lbs. It feels about right tho. Really happy with the quality, its definately on terms with the Pure Control.

This is what I thought too.

I use a PDGT and I demoed the Prestige MP as I was looking for something more all-court and I figured I would test the extreme from what I usually use. I loved it, but wanted to try something with a bit more power (than the Prestige MP). I went to my local shop and they didn't have the Prestige Pro but they had this so I checked it out.

Almost identical stats to the Prestige MP but with the open string pattern, and I couldn't believe how much more power came from that. It's better from the baseline than the Prestige, but I think that the Prestige is better for approach shots and volleys.

trying to decide which is best. But I agree, it's a very nice mix between the PDGT and the Prestige.

i picked up a PSTGT and a PSGT in the last two weeks. I thought I'd try to sell them, but haven't had any luck. Think I'm going to string them up and start playing with them for a while.

Any recommendations to make the PSGT play more like the PSTGT? Obviously, additional weight, but any other suggestions?

I will be stringing both frames VS Team nat. gut.

My #1 frames right now are the PDR+C, strung with nat. gut. I am thinking that this frame is a bit too powerful, but I will not even consider not using the natural gut strings, as I have had elbow issues, and the gut does wonders for allowing me to play with minimal pain. I played four tournament matches this weekend (plus one additional practice match), which would not have been possible without the gut strings.

I'm also hoping that the softer Pure Storm frames will enable me to play longer without pain.

The Ltd. version has a smaller head, and is lighter than the PST. It is intended to be sold to players who like to customize it and bring it up to a higher weight than it is sold stock.

Compared to the Pure Control Team, neither one is an exact match. On general spec, the PST is closer, but the Pure Control Team was noticeably stiffer and had a different flex pattern. The Pure Storm Ltd. might have a slightly more similar flex pattern, but definitely softer flex overall, as well as lighter weight.

Just wanted to hop in here since I had a PSTGT demo and I was really impressed. It seems to have a lot more power then a prestige and also has incredibly plush feel to it.

What stuck out to me is how heavy the balls feel off the racquet. You can really tee off on the ball and crush it with great placement. Slices were driving and penetrating also.

Also seems like you can use about any string you want in it too. Pro Hurricane at 55#s felt great in it, and so did a multi at #59.

The grip shape reminds me of a Wilson, and is very easy to find bevels.

I have not played with it long enough, so I figured I would see if the folks who have been using this racquet for a while feel the same way.

how is this frame compared to AST gt? I tried ATS gt and liked it a lot, but do not like PST gt.ltd..

Going to be getting the plus version in a few days and really looking forward to having a hit with it. Anyone recommend a good tension for big banger in this racquet?

I'm in the same boat, I play the PCT and have hit with both the PSTGT and ltd. The PST GT is closer but certainly has a different feel with its lower RA and flex. My next racquets will likely be the PST GT+ which are even nicer on the arm. I like the 16x20 pattern too - too much string on the ltd. for me.

I still prefer the PCT though and am trying to make my frames last. I catch lots of flak about using the head tape but its saved some paint!

Any regular PS users here?
I play with a Pure Storm Team. It has great control, spin potential and decent power for my style of play. I demoed a PSTGT today and found that the feel is less plush but it has more pop and stability. It is also more maneuverable since it is more head light.

I came over from the Wilson KPS 88 about 3 months ago and now have 3 of those wonder PSTGT racquets. The KPS 88 had a bit more power but these storms are just so plush and solid similar to the KPS 88 without the occasional shanks off the racquet.

Looking to pick one more up if I can grab one for a good price.

Interesting to hear it compared to the KPS 88... kind of tallies with my assessment of the PSTGT being something of an all court frame (certainly more so than Aerpro Drive, for example); not that you can't hang from the b-line because you can definitely do that with this rack.

Between the pstGT and astGT, which one is more stable and swings the easiest?

That's going to boil down to a demo because it's really user preference. I prefer the pstgt, but it just works better for how i swing (semi western, lower driving shots with heavy spin).

Yeah, I gave up 10% of the power by switching to the PSTGT from the KPS 88 but my wrist thanks me for not hitting the occasional shank that sent shockwaves to it. It definitely hits better than the Aero Pro Drive which has way too much power and feels kinda hollow at the stock weight.

Everyone who has tried hitting with my racquet in my area raves about how solid and plush this frame is and these are players that are currently using some form of the Pro Staff line. It's a testament to what a wonderful frame this racquet is. I just think most people overlook this frame. I would never have switch to Babolat having tested out their Pure Drive and Aero line had it not been for one of my tennis buddies who lent me the Pure Storm Ltd to try which lead me to the GT lineup.

Nce post. I was raving about the feel too, it was just incredible and i thought i was crazy, so its nice to see others feel the same way. Usually when the feel is this good, you don't get the power also, but the pstgt has tons of power for being such a "classic" frame.

The pstgt is by far the best racquet I've ever used! (After I switched the syn grip for a leather grip.) I've played with pro staffs and prestiges, as well as aeropro drives and pure drives. I always felt like something was missing from those frames... feel, power, control... depending on the racquet. The pstgt however seems to have the perfect combination of it all. There's not a shot I dont feel comfortable hitting with it, whether its power from the baseline, or soft touch on drop shots or volleys, this racquet is the total package.

Went to the local pro shop to slap a new grip on my Prestige and found a cool surprise, especially in light of all this newfound Pure Storm Tour love on these boards of late: a new 2011 version of the Pure Storm Tour GT available for demo (but not for sale). As a certified racquetholic, well, it was my duty to grab it. Frame is brand spanking new, hasn't been hit with yet. Will try to give it a go for a first time tomorrow.

First impressions: paintjob is nice, pretty much just like the last version in that it isn't anything fancy but it isn't hard on the eyes like some of these other new paint schemes. I think the colors look better in person than from what I've seen on pics. I do find it kind of funny, though, that these Babolats seem to look SO much like the new VCore line from Yonex due out - seemingly the exact same red/white paint with a touch of black at the top.

Put the frame on the scale and it weighs in at 12.3 strung, a tad higher than the 12.1 listed on last year's specs. For the record, a worker at the shop said these were supposed to be the exact same frame as the last version, just different paint.

Just dry swinging it around, it definitely swings heavier than my YT Prestige Mid, which also weighs in at 12.3, so I'd guess the PST feels somewhere in the mid 330s for a swingweight.

Will post thoughts when I get a hit in. Hopefully I can beat the bad cold that's currently trying to overtake my body.

I usually play from the baseline but trying to develop a more all around game. When I came back to the sport, I demoed a bunch of racquets and loved the power, heft, and solid feel of the KPS 88. It is so addictive when you hit the ball firmly in the sweet spot albeit a smaller sweetspot. I sold all of the KPS 88s but did keep one racquet as a reminder of what a great racquet it is.:)

The one thing that did give me problems is when I on occasion shank the ball, it would hurt my wrist bad. A few times I thought I really messed it up but fortunately it was just sore.

With the PSTGT, you do lose about 10% power and some precision compared to the KPS 88 but you gain better control of the ball. In addition, the benefits of a softer frame and less shock on your joints. The added head size also reduce the number of shanks and even if I did shank the ball, it didn't hurt as much.

I wanna join....

I'm trying to find some used ones right now. I put a post in the 'wanted' section. I'm coming from Prestige Pro's - I wanted to hold my search until I hit with the new IG version.... Well I made up my mind, and for me really there is no contest. The PST-GT still has more plow, a more forgiving string-bed all without giving up the 'whip' I grew to love with the YouTek Prestige Pro.

Did you guys tried to string the PST GT with Tour bite 16 full bed? How was it? I'm trying to find a string that allows me to use the slice when occur more efficiently because due to the flex sometimes it's kind tough to slice 3 times in a row.

Even though this is a solid racquet, it is not really soft on the arm as I have tried in the past to put a full bed of poly and it would give me a sore arm. I am currently using VS Team mains and my favorite so far is Kirschbaum PL2 Evolution in the crosses.

The only racquet I was able to put a full bed of poly in was the Prince Exo3 Tour which is just so plush but so say feels muted.

I did have a little adjustment slicing the ball switching from a stiffer KPS 88 but the added head size really does help and you just have to get under the ball a bit more. If anything, it encourages you to have better form when going to the slice.

I use full poly bed because I can't get used to the hybrid feeling of poly and synthetic gut or multy. I tried it but I thought it was too powerful.
Some good foot work always help
