I can finally have my 2 and 12 racket bag next friday! Shop is stringing them up in alu power rough this week, cant wait!
got mine now, both strung in alu rough 55lbs. feels great, just lacking a bit of depth but that will come with timing. might add a few grams at 3 and 9 and maybe add a softer string in a hybrid?
No problem man. I did play with the Non GT version of the regular storm last year. Kinda remembered putting it down after 5 shots, really did not like it. Didn't liked it at all. Too light, too little mass and a too tiny sweet spot.
What I can remember Zap. Been a while.
The more I play with this frame the more I like it.
The only one thing that bothers me is that one of my three frames is 5 gr heavier and a little more head-heavy.
Always make sure to get them swingweight, weight and balance matched prior to purchasing them

I agreeSo am I. I was really struggling mentally the last weeks playing this racket, so I tried A LOT of other ones like the Head Prestige and Radical. ( Just did not have any power on shots), the BLX Tour ( good but too light) , the BLX (six-one 18x20 (good but lack of spin), Dunlop 4D 200 16x19 (good but lack of feel), Dunlop 4D 300 Tour ( too light, no spin acces).
I always keep getting back to my PST. And I'm loving it the more I play with it. I finally found my heavy spin forehand again! The only thing that still bothers me a bit is the lack of maneuverability on low balls when I want to spin them back on the FHside. But other than that, I'm ordering my fourth racket. I love them!
Maybe I could say, this is the perfect combination between the Control of a Prestige and Spin/power of a PD/APDC

torre what strings are you using?
I am now playing with full PolyStar Energy and loving it.
Still keep one frame with hybrid for those days when my arm hurts a little.
I agree
could anyone sharing more about pure storm tour , and ltd version, the difference ??
I have a old pure control team , i like it.
which version of pure storm playing close to that old stick ??
Any of you use the PSTGT+?... How are you finding it?... general thoughts and impressions?... pros and cons?... string/tension thoughts?...
TIA,
R.
i picked up a PSTGT and a PSGT in the last two weeks. I thought I'd try to sell them, but haven't had any luck. Think I'm going to string them up and start playing with them for a while.
Any recommendations to make the PSGT play more like the PSTGT? Obviously, additional weight, but any other suggestions?
I will be stringing both frames VS Team nat. gut.
My #1 frames right now are the PDR+C, strung with nat. gut. I am thinking that this frame is a bit too powerful, but I will not even consider not using the natural gut strings, as I have had elbow issues, and the gut does wonders for allowing me to play with minimal pain. I played four tournament matches this weekend (plus one additional practice match), which would not have been possible without the gut strings.
I'm also hoping that the softer Pure Storm frames will enable me to play longer without pain.
The Ltd. version has a smaller head, and is lighter than the PST. It is intended to be sold to players who like to customize it and bring it up to a higher weight than it is sold stock.
Compared to the Pure Control Team, neither one is an exact match. On general spec, the PST is closer, but the Pure Control Team was noticeably stiffer and had a different flex pattern. The Pure Storm Ltd. might have a slightly more similar flex pattern, but definitely softer flex overall, as well as lighter weight.
I play with a Pure Storm Team. It has great control, spin potential and decent power for my style of play. I demoed a PSTGT today and found that the feel is less plush but it has more pop and stability. It is also more maneuverable since it is more head light.Any regular PS users here?
I came over from the Wilson KPS 88 about 3 months ago and now have 3 of those wonder PSTGT racquets. The KPS 88 had a bit more power but these storms are just so plush and solid similar to the KPS 88 without the occasional shanks off the racquet.
Looking to pick one more up if I can grab one for a good price.
Between the pstGT and astGT, which one is more stable and swings the easiest?
Interesting to hear it compared to the KPS 88... kind of tallies with my assessment of the PSTGT being something of an all court frame (certainly more so than Aerpro Drive, for example); not that you can't hang from the b-line because you can definitely do that with this rack.
I'm going to be putting 2 PST GT Tours in 1/4 up for sale if anyone's interested, let me know....
I might be interested. Please email me the price and condition of each frame and what they are strung with. My email is charleslevinus@yahoo.com
Went to the local pro shop to slap a new grip on my Prestige and found a cool surprise, especially in light of all this newfound Pure Storm Tour love on these boards of late: a new 2011 version of the Pure Storm Tour GT available for demo (but not for sale). As a certified racquetholic, well, it was my duty to grab it. Frame is brand spanking new, hasn't been hit with yet. Will try to give it a go for a first time tomorrow.
First impressions: paintjob is nice, pretty much just like the last version in that it isn't anything fancy but it isn't hard on the eyes like some of these other new paint schemes. I think the colors look better in person than from what I've seen on pics. I do find it kind of funny, though, that these Babolats seem to look SO much like the new VCore line from Yonex due out - seemingly the exact same red/white paint with a touch of black at the top.
Put the frame on the scale and it weighs in at 12.3 strung, a tad higher than the 12.1 listed on last year's specs. For the record, a worker at the shop said these were supposed to be the exact same frame as the last version, just different paint.
Just dry swinging it around, it definitely swings heavier than my YT Prestige Mid, which also weighs in at 12.3, so I'd guess the PST feels somewhere in the mid 330s for a swingweight.
Will post thoughts when I get a hit in. Hopefully I can beat the bad cold that's currently trying to overtake my body.
Parasailing...you switched from the 88? Damn, that's a pretty good endorsement. I love the 88...what kind of player are you?
Even though this is a solid racquet, it is not really soft on the arm as I have tried in the past to put a full bed of poly and it would give me a sore arm. I am currently using VS Team mains and my favorite so far is Kirschbaum PL2 Evolution in the crosses.
The only racquet I was able to put a full bed of poly in was the Prince Exo3 Tour which is just so plush but so say feels muted.
I did have a little adjustment slicing the ball switching from a stiffer KPS 88 but the added head size really does help and you just have to get under the ball a bit more. If anything, it encourages you to have better form when going to the slice.
