Ivanovic or federers forehand ???

I think Federer and Agassi have 2 of the better forehands to copy. Both have compact backswings, consistency and power. Agassi's was a bit flatter but he had enough topspin to control it and he could generate more spin when needed. Technically, these are 2 good models for upper intermediate players to emulate due to their simplisity. No kinks, no weird hitches, compact, in perfect harmony with their body rotation.

Notice how Fed's backswing is more compact that Anna's even though he hits more pace. But, Anna is easier on the eyes.

It seems like I put a link to this video into a post about every other day:

Here's Janko Tipsarevic hitting forehands. Great motion. No hitches, no weirdness, but all the right elements. I think his fh is a little easier to imitate then Feds because he uses a bent arm at contact. The straight arm is pretty, but the timing is harder. Personally, I need the margin for error allowed by the bent arm.

He uses a SW grip as opposed to Fed's Eastern or strong Eastern. The SW is the more common grip on the tour. It's not a huge deal either way, the basic swing path still works.

if you could copy the strokes of the pros, of course federer's fh is the one you should copy. beside the effectiveness of his fh, other people would admire your ability to hit such a forehand because they have seen it on tv on many finals :)
