Donnay X-Red 94 Plus question

I noticed that these just showed back up. I was wondering:

1. Is there any chance of the normal X-Red 94 normal showing back up in the future?

2. Is the extra weight of the PLUS model lead tape or something else that can be removed? Or is the extra weight built into the frame?

Also, just FYI, if you hit "Order" on the X-Red 94 Plus page, it says the price is $99 for one and $109 if you order 2 or more. I'm sure this isn't right (carried over from the Donnay's selling for $129 right now) and thought you might want to know.

Thanks!

@Marcus2137,

1. Sorry to inform you that the 94 Red is sold out and gone and won't be coming back - everything went Dual Core.

2. The PLUS weight is built in.

Siobhan, TW (and thanks for noticing that! We appreciate you letting us know)

Was wondering if the balance specs were wrong. On tennis.com is shows the SW and weight similar to TW's specs, but also shows it as 9 points headlight, which seems closer. TW has it at 1 point Head HEAVY, which seems off unless most all the weight is right at the balance point. Not sure how a 12.3-12.4 ounce racquet with 330 SW would be 1 point Head heavy?? Thank you!

li0scc0,

Thanks for noticing that, I just went and checked, and then re-specced the racquet -- we had the specs at 7pt HL on the racquet but they got entered in the system wrong. And, yes that is different from the tennis.com stats but there are variations in racquets etc. So sorry for any confusion about that.

Siobhan (my 2nd daughter's middle name by the way!!!),
Thanks so much. 7 points is almost exactly what I would have guessed. 9 points is probably the unstrung swingweight.
Appreciate it!!!

Thank you! Yes I ended up ordering one from TW yesterday, so clearly your answer was a good one :)

Thank you so much for all the answers. It's the reason that I buy everything from tennis warehouse!

Any chance on getting a Power Map and Zone Sizes for the Red 94+? I'm sure it's different from the normal 94 because of the extra weight.

Hit with the 94+ yet? I'm pretty jealous, I really wish there was demos available for this. I might just have to buy one because I'm dying to try it out.

Mostly, I hit just above the center line most of the time, so I'm wondering if this racket responds well a little higher up in the stringbed or if it shakes and feels dead/powerless like many flexy player frames do?

Thanks, congrats on the new racket!

I played this past weekend a few times with the X-Dual Gold 94 which I weighted up to 350g, 330SW, and 8.5 points headlight. Not the same racquet of course, but the specs are similar.
I found the racquet to be very very solid, super easy on the arm with very good power. Again, solid....no dead spot at the top. Granted, I had 3 grams at 12 o'clock which may have contributed to that solid feeling up top. The only negative I found is that the head IS only 94!!! It plays bigger than a 94, but when you shank, you shank. And I shank.
My 94 Red Plus arrives tomorrow (TW rules!). I will post back more. Feel free to contact me via email through my profile as well if you want more feedback.

Hi li0scc0,

Have you had a chance to hit with the 94+ yet? Just curious how it compares to other Donnay thin beams and midsize racquets you may have tried.

I have an it is the only racquet in my bag now. I have two 99 Silver Donnay (X-Core Silver 99)) I am selling for the fact that I flat out LOVE the Donnay X-Red 94+.
The weight and plow is addicting on this racquet. It has superb feel and forces me NOT to be lazy. One word really describes it...solid.

Did you try the Platinum 99?

The Red 94+ looked a little more demanding and heavy being 12.4oz and 94" than I was looking for, so I have a Platinum 99 arriving tomorrow or Tuesday. I am currently playing the i.prestige MP and really like it except that I need a little easier/lighter swinging stick with a bit more pop on winners and serves. The Platinum 99 reviews and posts seem like it could be exactly what I'm looking for.

I did, I like it as well. I guess I like the 94 head with the open pattern. I loved the Platinum 94 but didn't care for the 18x20 in the 94 head size. The Platinum 94 and 99 are great racquets though!!!

i just bought a x-red 94 + oi slapped in a 10g butt cap but didnt notice much so i am waiting on the full custom kit to heavy down the hoop similar to a dunlop biomemitic 1oo that i have which is 5 pts HL. i have 15g poly at 4olbs and 15 guage nylon in the crosses at 45 lbs but it still seem s a bit boardy for me, even at 12+ ounces stock form swings very light to me. i will reverse the weight balance kit soon to give more oomph at the hoop, but the old x-series , every one of them feel better than any of the dual series out now. as i have it my slice serve works quite well with a deep flat low ball into the serve box...rather consistenly. i will eithe have to drop the tension into mid 30s on the poly string or go uniform with the 15g nylon string to get teh pocketing /feel that i like swings good so far though
