When your first thought is Elton John, the shoe is not for you. I'll pass.
europe gets such better colorways in Asics. It makes no sense at all.
They just don't fit me.....I've been wearing the bigshots, vapor 9 and just got the SFX yesterday- the Asics mold just dosnt fit my feet. I wish they did cause I'd by a pair of those psychedelic baby's today!
Has anyone seen these colorways from TWE?
Hey guys. Just have a question about the GR4. I have always wanted to try some asics but haven't because I have never had a shoe better than Nike or adidas. So...
#1- how is the cushioning on these shoes, particularly heel?
#2- how is the durability on these shoes? Note: I play about 20 hrs a week on hard courts that are pretty gritty.
Thank you
I agree.Cushioning is superb.
Durability is less than adidas and Nike, but they out do them in other categories to easily compensate.

I wear nothing but ASICs. I love 'em. And I, too, love any shoe that flips the bird at convention.
I just don't love the idea of paying $120. For any shoe.

It's like a koala bear crapped a rainbow in my brain!
Actually, I don't hate them...definitely works on the "High Visual Clutter" scale...just not sure I can pull off that look at 47...
True, but there are so many options available at $40, or less, per shoe.I hear you, but remember $120 is really on $60 per shoe if you play often thanks to the wear warranty.

119 $ is a VERY good price for this shoe! Here in Sweden, the normal Gel Res 4 is about 1400 SEK (around 200 US $)
Goodness...that's a ripoff
was there ever an explanation as to the inspiration for the pychadelic colors?

Cost of living tends to be quite high in Sweden.
Lovely country but go into a normal bar in Stockholm, and a pint of Coca-Cola will be the equivalent of $6-$7.[/QUOTE]
I pay that much when I got to a football/basketball/baseball game here!
Shoes came in today, absoutely a head turner.

Did you choose your normal size, or go a 1/2 size smaller as recommended?
yes sir, I'm a true US 10 in Nike/adidas. A live outside pic from a point and shoot. Unlike, TW's studio $1000plus DSLR pic

Now I am just all worlds of confused. Some say size down, others say normal size. Too confusing.
Will have to try them on at my local shop.
It seems that people with wider feet should stay with their normal size,
and people with normal to narrow feet should go 1/2 size down.

The photos seem to have disappeared?
I'm only seeing a white square with a red cross.
My wife's arrived today. Wow

Thoughts?
I like them. Conservative but not boring. Classy looking in a restrained way, though I'd like to see a bit more gold in the colorway.
There's also a women's version of this which has a identical colorway as the men's. Speaking to a retailer friend of mine though, he's not going to stock them because doesn't think that colorway is going to sell that well to women.
Absolutely LOVE what Asics are doing at the moment with the range of GR4 colorways being offered. I just wish all the colorways were available equally in US and Europe.
