G-starr racquets

I just received a pair of G-starr frames used. I am really impressed with the overall feel of the frame. It seems to pocket the ball very nicely for a 98" frame. Some of the older references to the G-starr mentioned it may be from the Radical mold but the Radicals i've used have not had as sweet a feel as the G-starr frames I have. Is it possible the mold was from the Pt280 or is it positively the Radical mold? I would definitely like to get more of these. The weight of these came in at 11.20 with the factory synthetic grip, strung with overgrip. I am going to adding my usual TW leather to these this weekend. Is there anyone else still using the G-starr on these boards?

i always wanted to try one. TW sold them some years ago for $50 or $60. i recall someone at the time saying that they seemed to come out of the head ti.fire pro edition mold (12 oz., 98 sq. in model), only without the crossbar. alexa glatch used this in juniors and when she was first on tour. pretty understated cosmetics. always heard good things.

Just picked a brand new pair of these G-Starr frames :) http://web.archive.org/web/20040721215239/http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageRC-GSTAR.html
They did not come with the bumper guards but they were such a great deal so I couldn't pass them up. The frames look to be the same mold as my Head Pt280.

Well, my stringer just took off the original grommets and pop in (new) an older Ti. Radical midplus grommet and they are perfect fit. I will post some pictures tomorrow.

The old radical mold was the PT280 mold. Whatever mold you want to call it, it's that mold. I talked to the owner of G-Starr himself. He specifically said it was the same mold as the radical (trisys 260).

Yes I just compared my new G-Starr with my Radical Tour Bumblebee MP (trisys 260) and they are identical. Only different is the grip shape. G-Starr has more of the Wilson grip shape.

Here are some pictures.

I haven't seen the Solinco racquets in person, but from pics it looks as though these are the same mold. Doesn't look like it's from the pt280/radical trysis mold, but more the ti.radical mold.

I thought pt280/radical trysis and ti.radical are all from the same mold...no?

I had a Solinco Pro 8 and it's not the same mold as the Radicals. Solinco is slightly wider around the throat area.

The Pro Tour 280/Radical Trisys 260/Radical Tour TwinTube 630 are all from the same mold. The Ti.Radical MP is a different mold.
