If there was ONLY one thread and this was it... I'd be happy.

Thank you very much gentleman for the time, effort and attention. Great thread!!!

I'm not bothered about the pros, I'm curious as to whether BBO would work for me. I love Alu, but its dead after about 3 hours of hitting.

BBO works great in soft, open pattern frames for me. It is more resilient than alu and will last twice as long, in terms of feel. Unlike alu, I don't like it in a hybrid, full bed feels best.

An MSV-based rough poly with gamma ray treatment for better elasticity and tension retention. Two models, the white one is used by A-Tomic and the carbon black one is tested by Wawrinka.

Davydenko did actually switch.

Which leather grip is this? Head or Babolat?

Very informative thread!!!!

One question, when a player uses full set of a poly or Any other string, do you guys string it two piece if the mains end at the throat or do you guys use ATW patterns?

Liam ATW pattern if no 4 knots specifically required, except Babolat's PDs-APDs

Do you not use the specific Wilson Team ATW pattern then?
Just a couple of us had previous high level tournament experience (outside me, that is), but all the team seemed to know Liam's ATW..so, i decided to go with it.

@ewberner: "average" means nothing, since most of the top players restring larger numbers of frames regularly (obviously) and low-ranked less or less frequently; nevertheless, "average" was eight for men an six for women.

Awesome thread. Couldn't help myself, had to give this a good long stare.

Full Poly : 82
Gut / Poly : 22
Poly / Gut : 20
Full Nylon : 5
Full Gut : 2
Poly / Nylon : 1
Nylon / Poly : 1

Doubles Players Using Gut / Poly:
1. B. Bryan
2. M. Bryan
3. Mahesh Bhupati
4. Max Mirnyi
5. Daniel Nestor
6. Leander Paes
7. Qureshi
8. Radek Stepanek

What The Other Doubles Players Are Using :
1. Granollers (LXN Orig)
2. Marc Lopez (LXN Orig)
3. Lindstedt (ALU/Gut)
4. Lisa Raymond (VS Team)
5. Paola Suarez (Prince Syngut)
6. Marcin Matkowski (Poly/Gut)
7. Jonathan Marray (Poly/Gut)

Noteworthy : Full poly by a wide margin. Lux Original still has a lot of fans. Gut/Poly only slightly edges out Poly/Gut, thought that would be a no contest even with singles players. Five players using full nylon, and only two using full gut. The current top 6 ATP doubles points leaders all use Gut / Poly. Paolo Suarez is still playing Syngut.

Volandri... 12kg !

This is good stuff

Old news... he beat Federer a few years ago with the same tension, also in Rome.

I like low tension, especially when doing a very long sparring session. i string mine at 18 to 20 kg.
