Something More Durable Than Vapor 9's?

I've been checking out the vapor 9's and they seem like a great shoe, but the durability is really turning me off. I just can't afford $130 for a shoe that will wear out that easily. What are some shoes that are like the vapor 9's but more durable?

I know you're looking for another shoe but I'd figured I'd say that you should get the 99$ vapor's (older colors). Also for me after two months of using the vapor's, they show zero sign of wear and I play 5-6 days a week for 4 hours. I also slide a lot (hard courts). Just thought I'd let you know because I think the whole low durability thing is a tad exaggerated and I was thinking the same thing you are now when going to the vapor's, and I couldn't be more pleased with them.

I seriously challenge you to tell the difference in 1.6 ounces while wearing them. V9 = 14.4 ounces, 4.3 = 16 ounces. Come on. You can't feel that difference.

Really? There is no sign of wear after 2 months? Nothing? Some customer reviews have them saying the sole lasted about 3 weeks.

^JTJet, to each his own. Idk how you or Austinator plays but for most high level competitive players the vapors will last you between 1month and 2 months. For me personally they now last me about a month as I'm 18 now and will play D1 college tennis next year. I am an aggressive base liner if that means anything to you. A few year ago when my game was not as good and my footwork not as intense, i used vapors for many months but now that is impossible. I used the Babolat Propulse 3s for some time but now I'm using the CB 4.3s.

Just curious, when you say they last you a month, what actually happens to the shoe?

It may not make a difference to you, but I can tell when my shoes are lighter.

The bottoms are pretty smoothed, wearing out. The back heel of mine also got so worn down that the little writing on the side close to the bottom was just not part of the shoe anymore. They just get slippery, but a month is for more advanced players I'd say. Mine have been alright for about three months, and I play quite regularly.

Yes. Of course you can. Riiiiight.

I think it's silly to say that you can't feel the difference between the Vapors and CBs. The Vapors are so much lighter, softer, compact, and flimsy. You feel that. You also feel the Ballistics being heavy, clunky, big, and tough/durable. To say that they feel the same is just silly. Maybe not just from the weight, but from how the shoe is built.

The feather II's seem like a good shoe, what are your thoughts and opinions on it?

They're really comfortable but I've had my pair for 1 week and I'm already losing tread on the bottom. In 2 weeks they'll most likely be done...

I say: one ounce difference in weights cannot be felt. The shoes feel different on, yes, because they are constructed different. If I put a V9 on one foot, a 4.3 on the other, one does not feel heavier than the other.

My thoughts exactly. And to be honest if you need that extra -1.6 ounces to make you 'faster' then you need to start running with weights on.

1.6 ounces is actually a significant difference in terms of shoe weight.
I personally could reach the put away shots my opponent releases that I've never even dreamed of reaching.
The V9s are amazing shoes indeed.
And I've owned four pairs already.
And the durability is indeed poor, but I wear them until they're completely done (a hole for instance).
But really, there's no shoe out there that can match its durability, lightness, and comfortability.
