Beyond excited for the new tour.
If specs are supposed to be the same as the older generation of BLX frames then the beam should be 20,2mm.So am I, I just hope that the beam width won't be more than 20 mm this time.
I just looked at mine and it says 53-63. Blx blade 98.
RacquetBros, it is the blade 98 demo from a legit tennis store. Just snapped pics for you.
I think the earlier releases may have been a higher tension range. I have 2 straight from a tennis shop, and they were the early demo releases just like the ones that will come out next month with the new pj. Both say 53-63. Its an interesting little quirk.
Its speculation. Could be january. My shop gets wlsons pretty early though so i will be all over the steam and new blade demos as soon as i can.
Honestly with all the steam hype, i think the future is blading for many people here. It is the best light players stick with control and power that i have used. I guess it just matters what you like, but i like laser control and precision.
Drak mentioned in another thread that he has heard Dec 2012 for the Blade line and Jan 2013 for the new Steam. So it makes sense the demo's might come a little earlier.
Somebody must have snatched a picture by now. C'mon fellas, don't be "shy/stingy"
has anyone yet tested the new blade?
has anyone yet tested the new blade?
I wish. I don't think we know the flex and SW yet either. Really hoping nothing changes besides the PJ, because the BLX Blade plays perfect in stock form.
What's your take on the current BLX Blade 98 vs the Babolat Pure Storm Tour GT? I had the old Wilson Pro Tour 93 with a 16x19 string pattern and thought it was pretty good but ended up switching to the Babolat Pure Storm Tour GT as it was more plush and still maintained the power.

You had a 93 with a 16x19??? Which model was that?

It was a solid racquet but I hated the dense string pattern. This is in reference to the Kblade Tour 93.
My mistake, thought it was a 16x19 but just checked and it was an 18x20 pattern. It was a solid racquet but I hated the dense string pattern. This is in reference to the Kblade Tour 93.
So, does this mean that you prefer the KBlade Tour compared to the new one..? I wonder how different the dense string pattern feels relatively to a prestige mid, which remains my reference stick.
I have only used a KBlade Tour 93 for something like 30 mins in the past and the only thing I remember was that I liked how it felt.
I haven't had the luxury of trying out the new one like some of the people here on the forums. Tennis is not a very popular sport here since there are so many outdoor activities you can do.
I would say the Kblade Tour 93 was similar to the prestige but had a bit more power whereas the Prestige mid had more control.
Nice looking sticks, but other than the option of 16x19 are they really any different to the previous model? Also, isn't anyone else spooked by the light weight? Personally, I'd like to see a heavier version.
