It is interesting that so many of the actresses mentioned are from the glamour period of Hollywood, and not many have been mentioned who became famous since 1990. I wonder if this is more a function of Hollywood's choice of leading actresses, or a result of how actresses have been filmed and portrayed over the years.
There are many beautiful actresses in small European films, but this thread seems to be more about "stars" that would be recognized internationally.
I have recently watched quite a few classic Hollywood films, and Ingrid Bergman and Grace Kelly are hard to top. Of the Bond women, Ursula Andress set a standard that can't be topped. In the 1990s, I took note of Uma Thurman; not too many famous actresses have caught my attention in the same way since.

Where are you getting this from? There are plenty of beautiful shorter women. And likewise, there are many very tall women who look gangly and ungainly.
You haven't explained why you think height automatically rules out beauty.
