17g Prince Premiere Attack

I'm hitting with it from time to time when it's a bit wet out. My main racquet as BB Hero Gut in it and as I don't break strings that often I think the 17g is holding up fairly well. Not as much pop as the gut but has more spin. Has equal amounts of touch. Seemed to have lower power but not like poly low.
The outer casing is holding up. Honestly though I've only hit with it about 6 sets or less. Durability and playability is doing really well.

I'm going to try the 16g again in my new Exo Tours. That was really my only complaint about the string was lack of feel on touch shots.

I saw a review that said the 17g had good durability. That's what gave me hope, but it was hard for me to believe. If the 17 is fairly durable then that would hopefully solve the feel problem. I hope.
Somehow I've gotten used to the feel of PPA 16g, and for me I'm as confident with it as I am with natural gut. My biggest complaint with it is breaking it prematurely on shanks. So if 16g is too fragile for me on hard off-center hits, 17g is a no go. When I don't break it on shanks, it lasts longer than most multis.

I played most of last summer on Premiere Attack 17ga. It held up really well and I didn't notice much difference during the life of the string. I was playing three times a week for a few months on them. I restrung it just because it was "time." I think it is a really good budget multi, but take my 3.5 advice for what it is. 
I was going to get 16, but my 4.5 friend was adamant that the 17ga would feel much better to me. He advocates going with the thinnest string you can get without breaking it too soon.

I think your friend's advice is good. The only caveat I would add is that sometimes the 17G is a little springier and the ball tends to fly on me, especially if you are using a more open string pattern. I tend to string the 17G a few pounds more, but that is just me. From what I remember though, PPA is fairly stiff for a multi so it may be fine.
That is the exact problem I had about this string. One hard shank with this string and it breaks prematurely and it sounds awful. But it's still probably one of the budget multi's I would buy if I'm looking into one.

Yeah the 17g multis almost always end up being springier than their big brother 16g counterparts.
