Hey TT'ers,

I haven't posted in a long while since I've moved to Taiwan for a year long quest to study abroad.

Since I'm here for the long haul, I just wanted to let those out here (or those coming to Taipei) I'm always available to play some good ole tennis (sets, rallies, etc.) I live very close to National Taiwan University (台大)。

Just hit me up here!

I'll be visiting Taipei for about a week towards the end of November,
but will be there for work. Might have some time after my job finishes.

I'm a solid 4.0 if it's worth your time! I'm always down to hit with fellow TT'ers!

Perfect!

Can you set something up for Saturday AND Sunday (23 + 24) and let me know where to meet you?
I arrive TPE on the 23rd at 14:30. We could meet at 18:00 or so for TWO hours of hitting.
I am covering the cost of the courts!

Let me know at dradic011 AT hotmail com

Thanks!

i'll be in taipei probably middle of March. can I just borrow an extra racquet from you if we can play?

Sorry bud, I actually only brought one racquet here and never had to worry about string breakage so much as I use poly as my main set up. And string labor is much cheaper here than in the US

Sure thing! We should be able to play at National Taiwan University courts. They even have red clay courts (only 2).

Cool.
However, I prefer the HC.
If you prefer clay, we can do it...

I'm much rather at home on HC. I was just stating that there are red clay courts here in Taipei. I'm from SoCal so the only "clay" courts we have are hartru, so it was definitely a must do for me.

Off topic but, are you still using the VCore 97 Tour, 330? If so, can you give me your present impressions ?

I mainly play at NTU, I haven't gotten around to taking some updated video but look to it in the future. You can google the courts until then ?

Great two days of hitting at the fastest Hard Courts I have ever hit on...
Man, my HCs in Dallas are going to feel like red clay this week :)

Thsanks again for taking your time and for introducing me to your buddies...

eidolonshinobi,

Thanks for your prompt reply. I'm really looking forward to playing with you.

I can't seem to find your email address. I clicked on your name, selected "View Public Profile", and it shows no contact information.

I'm brand new to this forum, so please forgive my ignorance. :-(

Thank you,

Peter

Your Email Address

eidolonshinobi,

The staff at Tennis Warehouse just explained to me that I won't be able to access your contact info until after I've made 50 posts. That explains why I can't find your email address.

When you have a chance, can you please look at this post that I had put up on Craigslist over a week ago (and got zero response by the way):

http://taipei.craigslist.com.tw/act/3625162933.html

Just go ahead and reply to my Craigslist post, and I will automatically get your email address that way.

I prefer not to put my email address directly in a reply post on this forum, because spammers will lock onto it.

Thank you,

Peter

Hello eidolonshinobi,

Just want to give you a quick update.

I will be leaving for Taipei April 11th and arriving on the 12th. Hope you're still up for some tennis?

If so, can you please send me an email with your local contact info? I hope you still have my email address? Once I arrive in Taipei, I will buy a local SIM card for my iPhone. I will give you my mobile number at that time.

Thank you,

Peter

Hey Peter,

Just click on my profile to send me an email. I can't seem to contact you through your craigslist profile...

eidolonshinobi,

I'm in Taipei now.

Remember I can't send you an email by clicking on your profile. Your email contact info is not visible to me, yet, because since I'm a new member to this forum, I have not posted enough entries.

Anyway, I got my local SIM card, so please give me a call at 0919-194-434. I don't always have my phone turned on, so in case I don't pick up, just leave a short message, and I'll call you right back.

Thank you,

Peter

Anyone in TPE want to play tennis from 9/5 to 9/20? I may be out of TPE for a few days during that timespan but will have racquet and would love to hit.

Thanks

Hey wangs I'll be in similar situation in Taipei from around the 8th to the 24th this month but will be traveling a block in between as well. If you're interested in hitting please message me your email/contact details and we'll sort out a meetup. I'm familiar with some courts in the area

Hi eidolonshinobi,
I have read you play at NTU. I was wondering what are the fees per hour and where to book a court?
How about the clay courts? Are they exclusive to students of NTU?
Thanks
Olidel

PS: I'm 4.0 and occasionally would like to hit the ball with other tennis players than my regular mate...

I live in Seattle but have played tennis a few times in Taipei on trips. My favorite place to stay is the Grand Hotel (clay courts). You can arrange to play with a pro, or possibly find a match. There a a few decent 4.5 members at the club there, and the teaching pros are 4.0-4.5.

There is a also a large public hardcourt facility in a park in the middle of the city (don't recall the name, but should be easy to find) where I have arranged to hit with a pro before - the guy I played against a a few years ago had a D1 level forehand.
