Luvforty.....
OK, if you say you are the guy in black, then I can assume you are... but..
I'd kick that idiot instructor in the nuts! For starting before step 1, beginner tennis, and you are at least a 4.0 level player.
Talking to you like that, then having you perform such a basic backhand, total 2.5 level, is a waste of your time.
Now, the thumb thing is OK, but don't really hit like that, as you can injure youself using the thumb as the support structure. It should be the base of your thumb.
ok coach Lee, duly noted;
coach arch, why the double standard? coach cheetah messes with people's swings all the time, you don't ask him to post video.
I KNOW it's Wegner, that's why I wrote what I did.
And if Uncle Toni told me how to hold a forehand grip, spent minutes showing me where to stand behind him and hold that grip, I'd kick HIM in the nuts too.
LuvForty...
For benefit of doubt, I watched the whole vid again....
Gotta say, you are a good egg! To put up with that guy, take it seriously, you must have some gumption. And then to PAY 80 bucks....that guy is raping the world!
Hope your game get's as good as your attitude! You're 7.0 in my book.
coach cheetah,
coach arche is an idiot.
maybe me and suresh can pay for your trip from la to sd and meals and stuff
I'll be in los angelos during this Christmas season. Let's play some tennis! If my wife let's me....

Coach arch. Seriously. Post your bh. Your old one had a major flaw. And it was not push or pull. And it is not even which bevel. I promise you I cAn fix it if you show it

Arche3, don't let luvdozu "fix" your
backhand before the two of you play!
Haha.
This thread went off road somewhere. Hard to glean the advice in here, but in seriousness, is there a general consensus on the pressure points for the one hander, with an eastern grip? I found the below website with a pretty cool visual display of the different grips. What do you think?
http://www.ephemeralize.com/EasternBackhandGrip.html
coach frog - I am an honorable man... I have the genuine intention to fix coach arch's bh.
coach arch - I am being serious here - I have the secrets to the low maintenance bh that you can use effectively without hitting a year of balls.... it is a combination of Wegner's teach plus Toly's biomechanics theories.
and speaking of Krikstein, the 115 serve guy was on the tour with him, I was not kidding you when I say I receive 115 all the time.
this is a great find, coach AYone !
it's pretty much right on... I use a slightly more neutral version so the thumb middle joint is pushing on b6... so as a 40+ guy I don't need to bend knees down too much to dig up low slices.
but what's in the video definitely works!
however, there is a KEY piece of info there that's misleading perhaps about the supination... and I will reveal this secret after coach arch posts his bh.

coach cheetah, you are putting words in my mouth.
also, according to coach arche3, you are supposed to post video first, before giving out advice like above, plus making people shooting fh photos from their living rooms etc.
oh well - if arche3 doesn't want to get his bh looked at, it's his loss.
Arche,
You seem to have forgotten that dozu just learned about supination about 2 months ago here on tt and he also thought that it was a new development in bh technique pioneered by dmitrov and wawrinka until I posted videos of players decades ago using it so don't expect him to give you any insight on your bh.
it's not supination - that's where the secret lies.
guy is now training hard, 2 hours a clip, just in case that dozu person makes the trip to queens.
and it's b6 after all.
when is the video coming?
