Is it real Head or PJ of the Babolat Pure Drive he has been using for a while?

He's also been testing a 16 x 19 version, but currently using the 18 x 20 at Wimby

Just checked his frame and its not the same as djokovic's. it's not boxed beamed, and has the same slanted sides as the normal retail version.

No it's not. While the layup of the frame maybe unknown, it certainly appears to be from the current graphene speed mold. Apparently he tried Stepaneks (Head) frames and liked them.

Seems like Paes was with Babolat for quite a few years. Did he ever use a (real) Pure Drive, or was it always a paint job of some other racquet mold?

Good question, seems like a big change to go from a Pure Drive to an old Radical.

it had to be pure drive. after he switched to Head, he lost a lot of power on his serve

uk skippy says its NOT an old radical, its from the new speed mold. there will not be too much difference in flex.
that makes more sense to me as well, as it would be quite odd if a 39 year old drops over 10 RA-points.
