It seems this guy can’t find a good painter. He’s been with the 2018 pure drive pj for awhile. Now, he is using some sort of black and red Babolat. Looks like a 2012 pure drive pj because I don’t know what racquet he is using under the paint, but it’s an old pure drive. It also looks like a pure control, but I can’t tell from the camera shots. Thoughts?

If you Google it, you can find out some stuff. Anyway, it’s the ‘12 Pure Drive w/ the limited edition Roland Garros PJ from ‘13.

ARV has always played with a Pure Drive but he played with the 2015 PJ in the semis against PCB today. The last two rounds, he played with the 2012 RG PJ. He’s yet to play with the newest 2021 PJ, but it’s always nice to see players use racquets that are a decade old.

Not sure what you guys are talking abt.. he used the 2015 PJ all through Marbella tournamemt vs Berankis, Gombos and then PCB in semis.. I just went back and saw replays on Tennis TV to confirm and he has the 2015 PD paint from R2 onwards (he got a bye in R1) up til the SF...

Thats the '13 RG paint for the 2012 PD. You are correct, that is not 2015 PD paint.

I think Faris probably just saw the beginning of every match because yeah, at the beginning of every match in that tournament, ARV has the 2015 paint stick in his hand. I went ahead and checked through replays as well to verify (one of the perks of Tennis TV subscription I guess). I know, way too much time on my hands these days.

My guess is that ARV probably had the RG edition PJ stick or two in rotation in his racquets. For example, his PCB match he was using both paint jobs in the match from what I remember.

The guy definitely needs Babolat to give him some new paint racquets. Although, gotta say, makes me happy to see someone using older paint too.

Yep that ain't 2015 PJ for sure...he must be switching out racquets between matches like haqq above said.. i didn't watch whole matches just the beginning coin toss, warm up and first few games maybe..
