The video is almost two hours long but it's well worth watching if you're a fan of tennis. It really was something to see them all there together. Borg was too tipsy to talk? That was weird. He just kept saying that it was time to go home. :p McEnroe and Lendl were seated next to each other and barely spoke a word. Lots of good stuff. :)

I noticed Moya took along time to leave the stage after they said they wanted just the YE #1's.

That was a very nice tribute and yes, there may have been quite a bit of champagne flowing lol. It's great to see that bridge between the old guard and new guard. If any fans of current players doubt the greatness of older players, just listen to the current pros talk about the past greats. Lendl, Borg, McEnroe, Connors and others rightly applauded how well Djokovic, Nadal, and Federer have carried the mantle.

Yeah,you'd probably say Roddick had a better career than Rios,but I think Andy was right if you're talking about talent - he had the least talent of all the players there probably

Did anyone else notice when Djokovic was doing the handshake thing with all the guys after he was introduced, the encounter with Roddick was very definitely chilly. No love lost between those two I think.

To be honest, I thought everyone on the side of the more recent #1 players (the "right" side from audience view) gave Novak fairly cold handshakes, other than Fedal and Guga. Ferrero, Hewitt, Kafel, and Moya also gave Novak very quick, barely-there handshakes. Those guys gave everyone else warmer handshakes, IMO.

We need to hear more from Bjorn Borg actually. It's interesting to see how much players from Connors to Djokovic have in common, despite many differences. It's fascinating to listen to these great champions from 1973 onwards. Great event! You could see the mutual respect and admiration these players shared. Connors was great I thought and Nastase was so funny, lol. For those that haven't listened to Borg talk about tennis, see this:

lol at people trying to infer profound interpretations from a fleeting series of handshakes!
To be quite honest, the whole thing seemed phenomenally tedious to me. I was barely able to get through it awake. Good for the absent to have wiggled out of such a pompous and drawn out affair. Don't know what their excuses were but... they were the smart ones after all ;) (also as much as some of those #1 could feel a bit "expendable", Sampras and Agassi definitely failed to fall in that category. Hard to have a proper #1 tribute without these 2.)

Veroniquem, what's your problem lately? You've been so sour and really snappy at everyone and that not usually like you.

Of course you're entitled to your own opinion but you are the only person, on any board or in any blog or article, that didn't think it was a wonderful event and a rare opportunity for fans to see all these fabulous tennis players together. The players obviously loved it all and I personally thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing.
