Nadal definitely has diffuse thinning all over the top of his head, a la Pete Sampras. Federer has a thick mane, but it has no doubt receded; that's why he wears the headband.

You know who has a perfect, thick head of hair? That's right .... SAFIN.

Who cares? Look at Federer ......a guy who is as ugly as quentin tarrentino and dresses like a girl.....still makes boatloads and can get any woman he wants.

Both parents contribute. Nothing related to genetics is a simple dichotomy of "you get x from your father and you get y from your mother". In some cases the paternal side will be dominant; in other cases the maternal side will be dominant but in all cases its an interaction between the two. I read somewhere male pattern baldness is caused by an interaction of 5 different genes.

My father is really really bald, and so are all of his 5 brothers (to differing degrees). The bast-rd teased me when I was a teenager that my hair would fall out. I kept waiting for it to happen. I'm 38 now and I've still got a massive head of hair. Its just luck of the draw.

That's simply not true.

Yes - for those genetically prone to male pattern baldness it is triggered by testosterone; however, for men without the genetic predisposition for male pattern baldness their levels of testosterone have nothing to do with it.
