Don't know abt 03 OS, but I've put 3g on 10 and 3g on 2, just between the 0 ports, and my 03 White Plus became a beast, far more powerful than PD'12 and also better for my arm. Too bad, I have bought 3 of them in the last two months. :-?

I've been told numerous times to buy this...went with the black instead but that didn't have enough control. Maybe the white would be the trick.

I will own a 68 charger 383 stick at some point that quest is on the horizon!!!!
Will go shopping in the desert!

For now sweet little ranger pickup and mustang gt vert is all I can do!!!

What year is your mustang? My dads got a 70 chevelle ss and a '11 camaro ss :D

Many would put 70 chevelle ss on all time top 10 list of American muscle.

Especially with a 454 under the hood. Had a buddy in hs who had one sick sick car!

Not a gm guy myself but have been close to buying a few vettes.

Pony is a 03 gt premium convertible storage facility winters actually have conti dw extreme summer tires so it can't be driven in winter. Thus only about 50 k miles. Mostly stock tho I know a guy runs a custom exhaust shop so that is tweaked w flow masters welded in and shortie headers. Did the Mach 1 grill delete too.

Bark is bigger than her bite but under 6 sec to 60 is good enough for me.

Man I love that body style of mustang. Where do you live? Those stock mustangs sound gooooood.

My dads Chevelle actually has a 396 from a 69 chevelle. 375hp with a hurst no-clutch 3 speed shifter. It's pretty sweet. It's got more power than the Camaro off the starting line, but the camaro beats it in the long run for sure. We've had that puppy up to 134 and still climbing

The pony is real nice and with the flows really has that old school growl which turns to a howl at 4000 rpm. I love music as you can tell but the Mach 460 sound system has been used about twice. The 4.6 makes the best music. Almost dropped a 306 coyote ford racing stroker in it but decided against it. She is just a sweet little cruiser as is.

Just recently drove a factory five cobra copy with the same drivetrain that was for sale locally super sweet but GAS was kept under control!!!

SS 396 is nice, and sounds like a driver vs a show car which is also better.

Cool dad u got!

Haha that's exactly what I did too!!! Bought 3 IG mids after reading vsbabs thread lol but that's it! No more!!! I'm going to stick to these three for 5 years atleast.
P.S. How do you find the IG mid? It's and amazing racket isn't it?

Needs lead tape at 3 and 9. Also, I used Tecnifibre Multi-feel, which is probably the worst string ever created. So the jury's still out.

I was in the high school bands, but that's different lol.
Yeah flow master exhaust really livens up that sound...more of a gurgle/rumble.

Dad likes to take the Chevelle out when it's the best weather and he doesn't have to drive far. It gets about 10mpg. The camaro is for those cruising days :)

We have fun! My grandpas got a few old cars too

Dead serious I get 24 mpg with the pony. A small reason why I decided leaving it stock pretty much was ok and it is bomb proof reliable too pretty much just change oil and filters one leaky r/e fixed that's it.

Tennis GAS is pretty funny car GAS can destroy families and is recommended for only the super wealthy or extremely qualified auto mechanics.

You are fabulously entertaining. I wish you would try my set up above just one time for ten minutes tho....

I think SF has told you a couple doZen times to drop the tension in the PDR too....

U does what u does!

I've got some black code that I will try your setup with the ELT. I vaguely remember trying ELT in my pro open and loving it.

GAS is described above ha ha read your thread lol!

Need a radical mp 18x20 40# I think TW has em for 80 bucks or so (mg) leather grip 5 inches lead at 3/9. If you don't find it sick I will buy it off you how's that? If TW doesn't have the MSV focus hex 18 avail substitute cyclone should work. Have TW string it they do a good job you can handle the lead and leather. You must bump up weight as I describe stock mp rads get pushed off the baseline by heavy hitters.

You get extreme comfort of mp radical, big plow through of increased swing weight, control of 18x20 and super sick spin of elt MSV focus hex 18.

Try dropping the tension in the PDR too like SF has told you, but I will let him elaborate - then for goodness sake pick up 3 matching frames sell the misc frames and play tennis!!!

Sir. I have to be here long enough to understand what exactly...? You simply stated that you have an addiction(I assumed you meant a racquet-buying addiction as this is talk tennis, unless you're some raging alcoholic that we should be aware of ?) and I said my opinion of how you can get rid of it. What's the problem ?

I'm sorry, I didn't see this post. My apologies for blowing up at you. It was uncalled for.

Before talk tennis, I NEVER worried about my equipment. I blamed losses on my performance, not my equipment. I played number 1 doubles on varsity and I was the team captain...what did I use back then? A prince oversize o3. Yep. NEVER had arm issues. I used syngut and I was happy!

So, here's my question to you all: should I sell my pure drive roddick and all the frames I don't like and go back to an oversize, maeuverable frame like I used to use back in high school?

Nope, don't go back, it's more fun this way ;) (I thought I'd respond too since this sounds familiar!)

I know the feeling though, I had a bit of an "off" week with my game, but then realized I've been playtesting racquets from all different brands from swingweights in the low 300s to the high 330s...racquets with multis and low strung/high powered polys (both which I don't prefer) and polys strung high...so I broke out the old Pure Drive GT (not the PDR only because it has old Ripspin in it at the moment) yesterday to re-center myself a little...although it had old Beast in it, which wasn't great :p I was joking with Chris that no matter what I hit this past week, I couldn't find ANY control...which I instantly blamed on Crossfit, then my strings, then the racquets :p

Now you know what you like...and you can play around with anything to see how it compares...but always keep what you like around for those days that nothing feels good and just find a rhythm and love it all over again :)

Just my two cents! It's a fun problem to have!

You know, I've always liked my pro open but the paint job just sucks! And so does the new one! I also always add lead tape @3&9 on them to bring up the SW a hair. Maybe the o3 white really is the ticket for me. I've already said that twice...maybe I should pull the trigger on 3 and forget about everything else except my pro open.

I used to think like the OP - but the other day I went back to NYC and wanted to play a buddy in tennis. The overpriced tennis place I was at had a Steam 99s.

Not sure if I love it but MAN does that spin technology work. I never hit with spin like that. I think of myself as hacker that can barely generate any spin - but the ball wave moving and curving all over the place...

So it's not just tennis warehouse. Racquets do make a difference. Its not going to make a super hero - but you can play better against your normal people with a better racquet.

Going from 3.5 to a 3.75 is actually a big jump for a lot of players. It means your a beating quite a few people that used to beat you.

But I'm not dropping $600. I will never buy the latest rackets. It's a waste of money when I can have an awesome older model.

That is so true. I was in your boat once a time ago, but then I found out why they call them Prestige.

^Yeah, I have the microgel pro and the IG PP. The IG with reliable ole syn @59 is a monster for me. The syn helps with the plow through. My 2hbh has really improved with this combo. I do hit with topspin, but it's not my main goal, I try to pick my shots when to apply, therefore poly strings have not been a must have..

I have tried a lot of frames and this is my conclusion ;)

Mike, just like any addiction. You won't stop unless YOU really WANT to. If you really wanted to, you wouldn't be asking everyone here to talk you out of it. So until you are truly ready to stick it out with one frame, don't sweat it and just play tennis. If you truly want to stop, you have to stop soliciting opinions here. You know what to do. Grab a racquet that has the right swingweight and power level and the rest is all meaningless. Just play with that and focus on the real things that will improve your game: footwork, strategy, mental game, etc. Apply your addiction tendency to something else besides racquets. You have tried enough racquets to know what works best for you. Whichever racquet you played your absolute best tennis with the most is the one. There isn't anything that different out there that you haven't tried yet.

Yes I think we figured that out :)

Like I said....use something that in the past, you played your absolute BEST tennis with. That way you know you have a racquet that will perform when YOU do.

Well, it would either be the APD13 or Dunlop M3.0. I beat my hitting partner with both of those rackets. Served extremely well and got lots of balls kept in the court. Next in line would be my pro open followed by the prestige s.

And once you find the racquet you love and play great with you can obsess with little customizations. I have two 2013 APD that I picked after demoing roughly 10+ frames but I knew it was the right stick once I was hitting with more spin and pace. Now I am obsessed with minor tweaks be it weight or strings. I started with leather grip and lead at 3 and 9, played ok, but then I went even more extreme and added more lead under grip and put 4 grams at 12 instead of 9 and 3 and even added an additional fish weight in the butt cap so I did not have to take off my leather grip again. I love it! the extra plow is amazing and my racquet is currently around 12.4 - 12.6 and more headlight than the stock form. Its fun to customize in my opinion.

Was in the same case as Mike, although I settled on my frames after trying many ones. Got back to my old frame. I was trying many strings. Got fed up with it, noticed it wasn't making my tennis better (in fact it's worse), took few sets of PPA 17 to be done with it already. Even if once in a while I am genuinely interested in new strings (like the renewed Prince Premier offering or Monogut ZX) I don't pull the trigger unless I'm done with what I have. And since I'm playing only once a week at this moment it won't be before a while. Mental thing.

So the question is should you change equipment and not your peformance level because the forums made you want to change equipment instead of performance level? But isn't that again changing equipment without looking at form hence making it a self fulfilling prophecy?

I would buy an Aero, but I've been having slight arm discomfort with my PDRGT. I did string it too high, which made the string bed stiff, and it may have resulted in me gripping the racket harder and using my arm to try to get more power. My friend uses a pure drive with full multi and has no trouble with its stiffness. I really don't want to drop $200 on a single frame either.

PowerPlayer once upon a time told me to learn how to customize and I'm doing just that also. I'm actually starting to measure and weigh the weight that I add. Lol. Yes it is fun!

You don't have to drop 200. You can always find one on here used for much cheaper, I actually got really lucky on my second frame, a buddy of mine needed cash for rent and took 100 and it is practically brand new. Just keep your eye out, it is a great racquet and I haven't had any issues with it and I had tommy john surgery for baseball in 2011 and I have used poly anywhere from 54-60 and haven't found any discomfort.

We were all happier back then because we were younger and had fewer choices. Just stick to a racket that is maneuverable with some good pop and let it work for you. The multis are better than the old Prince Synthetic Gut that we all used, so that is a plus. No need for poly when you are not a pro that can hit hard, needs control and can afford to restring every 4th set! Don't make yourself crazy, Mike.

One suggestion of mine you should really take Mike is to get a PayPal account and get involved in the classifieds on this forum. You can find some pretty good deals and the reference section gives you some feedback on the person you are dealing with.

It is a nice way to try new racquets and get some return on the ones you don't keep.

I suspect the most of my discomfort is from gripping the racket too hard. Thanks!

Use a badminton racquet when you play that way you can say it's the racquets fault when things go wrong...haha

Your PDR with 15 gauge nylon at 46 lbs.
Damped feel, solid consistent power, lasts a long time, teaches you to hit through the ball, not brush up on it, super easy on your body parts.
No need for more tension, as some pros barely use 50 lbs., and can control their shots.
