Please share all RacquetTune String Factor Values here.
I will try to make it all updated, since this is essential to get good readings with RacquetTune.

Good stuff. At least we can use for comparison. I've been using the std SF and see some variations.

Wish we could sticky this for reference.

Great initiative......
I wish someone who uses Tourna Big BHR Or Big Hitter Silver Rough 16 or 17 g to list their values....

but on the whole great going

In the database, Tourna Big Hitter Silver Rough is measured as:

Code:
Diameter Factor
1.25 1.52
1.30 1.65

Both were provided by 'Bob T'.

Thanks so much for the info.........I was trying to find the factors of quite a few of them,,,,,

Is there a reason not to use the factors that are already in the app?

Or are the strings above not already in the database?

Thanks!

If you strung with one string listed above, you can use that value.

But if it's a different string, you can only get a good read if you have the right string factor value for that string.

So if one can input more values for more strings ... that would be very usefull for all of us.

Cheers

I think working with your own string factor values is the best method, not working with someone else's which may or may not be the same as yours. There are several factors that can change the string factor value such as the tension, length of string, how well the device your using picks up the Ping from the string, the instrument used to ping the string, etc... Someone else may measure a string and have the string length +/- 2 mm where you may be spot on. All stringer don't pull at the same tension especially when you're comparing LO to constant pull.

I see a string factor of 1.52 for BHSR 17g. Did I miss the factor for the smooth BHS 17g?

Also, what would people use if they were doing a 17g hybrid with BHSR/BHS?

Right I must be going blind....

I always thought 1.28mm was 16guage

but in the above posts it shows tourna big hitter silver rough 1.25mm and the 1.52 string factor value

so does that mean 16 guage is 1.25mm?

1.30 is 16 gauge, 1.25 is 17 gauge and 1.28 is 16L gauge.

Search for: "racquettune"

Android it is.

yeh got it,thanks,

but it doesn't work for me (android),
This is what im doing:
Put my own racket- headsize 95, then mains+crosses: 16/19.
Put my own string (generic string)/diameter-1.25, it calculates string factor comes at 1.72.
I put max tension at 70lbs, min at 15lbs.

Every time i hit the string bed with a screwdriver (as it shows on thr video),
comes with with the same message (sound outside frequency, adjust settings if this popup continues)

tried 5 different rackets ranging from 85-95sq inch- changing the settings for each racket, but the same message comes up

Pay atention to the specs in the racket.

Take a good look if you are inserting 95 Sq Inch or 95 Cm2 ... that must be your problem.

Good luck.

thats was the problem, thanks again art, and it does work:)

one last question art, ive got my tgk237.1 (which is 89.5 sq inch), in the app you cant put the .5, so should i round it to 90 or 89.

I would try it but it doesnt allow you to delete/edit the racket info

Just test this... create 2 racket profiles, one with 89 and the other with 90, then measure the tension with both, and post here the results... just curious about it ;)

Cheers

I'd take the average value of the results of the two racquet profile tensions.

ok so i did this my tgk frame could be read at 90sq inch, but at 89 (just strung at 53lbs)- being read at 37lbs with freshly strung lux bb original 1.30.

bought a st vincent (1.5months ago) with a fresh string job from the seller(48lbs), now readinig at 43.8lbs

Head pc600- strung ages ago with dyreex black edge at 53lbs, reading 36.1

wilson pro staff tour 95 - bought at 46lbs, now 41.4lbs

K90 strung ages ago with lux alu rough 1.25 at 53lbs, reading 48.1lbs
...................................................................................................................................................................................
Lux BB original 130.mm - string factor:1.86
Dyreex Black Edge 1.25mm - string factor:1.72
Luxilon Rough 1.25mm - string factor:1.72

Bob T. has provided a string factor of 1.52 for 17g Tourna BHSR. I happen to use that as mains in hybrid with Tourna BHS 17g in the crosses.

Do you think I can use 1.52 for the smooth version, BHS 17g? So, for the rough/smooth hybrid, can I use just the 1.52?

It turns out that nat gut is harder than syn gut, or whatever these values indicate... (elasticity, resilience?)

The application now includes string database, Solinco Tour Bite is already there:

Thanks for this thread!! I finally got Racket tune to work!

the string bed in my sig after a month or so IIRC was measuring 49lbs.

Which one of the two do I use? Sound or the other?

The app suggests value of 1.82, but you can also use average of the two measurements related to 1.30mm diameter. Anyway, the true value of the app is in tracking relative tension loss. It's great if you can calibrate it to actually display "exact" tension in kg/lbs, but it is not necessary.

Anyone experience wild numbers from the app?

I just strung up alpha gut 2000 1.33mm at 58lbs on my constant pull.

When I hit the strings with the usual end of a screw driver, pliers, or anything else, I get 69 lbs!! Whenever I use the end of my starting clamp, I'm getting. 46!

The racquet is right, and the string is right.

I just checked my machine and calibration is dead on.

Wow, that's weird. I used the value on the start of this thread and it came out at 58.2!

The database has gut 2000 with 1.6xx but the thread has 1.424. Makes a big difference!

Anyone has the string factor for Discho Microfibre 1.25mm (17g). I'm trying this for the first time and want to compare it to X-One Biphase. Thanks.

ditched racket tune in favor of the ERT 300.

I find that I currently like a DT of 52

I don't know if the string database includes these strings, as it's not on the android version, but I have measured the weight of Zx 16/1.30 and Black Code 4s 16 as 23.9g and 21g. The two plastic fasteners added roughly 0.15g each, 0.3 total, so I deducted the weight of them. I didn't measure the length, as I would have had to uncoil the string, stretch the string from my living room, through the dining room, and into the kitchen, then wind it back up again and refasten it. Or alternatively measure it segments. I couldn't be bothered with that faff, so I used then length measurements on the packet, giving string factors of;

Zx 16 - 1.99166666666667

esgee48

G.O.A.T.
Just an observation, nystadium. The string factor is the mass/meter of string and ZY stretches like crazy when place under tension. I don't have any samples, but your number looks like it could be 4-5% too high (or more.)

I only use RacquetTune as a relative gauge of how much my tension has dropped. I don't even bother to change settings, just note the starting tension, whatever it is then check in a week or so.
